When you have to wait the plane and it’s almost 7.00 pm, and your stomach is not good, this place is the best one. When you go inside there is a luxury with lights everywhere and very kind waiters dressed really well, however you can even see a rustic atmosphere thanks to the food expositions that makes you feel better about what you will gonna to eat. The service is really fast(just 10 minutes max.) and for this time we have ordered some tea and chocolate drink, and the last one you can taste is not the same artificial thing putted in a cup, is tasty and real chocolate. About the food, they serve the best and the classic choices of the italian menu without mixture with the other type of worldwide ones. I haven’t order the food but the next time i would like to do it! That’s why i give 4 stars instead of 5. Maybe the next time!

A piece of Italy in the Airport! Excellent service and excellent food quality. I would give 4.5 stars if I could. My minor disappointment was to come for a late breakfast(about noon) and learn that it would take a long time for the food to arrive(the server warned it could take 20 min, which I did not have). With that said, at least she warned me! The server seemed genuinely Italian and the food quality was what you would expect from a bistro in Italy, not an airport restaurant. I was even asked if I wanted robusta coffee or arabica coffee! That was the first time I have ever been asked that— arabica of course! was my answer. This is a world I want to live in!!! The coffee(americano) was GREAT. I settled on the ravoli over the pasta carbonara at the server’s suggestion. It was eggy and light… delicious. Food at the other tables all looked delicious also. As was alluded to in other reviews, the servers were somewhat understaffed. With that said, I would rather have excellent people who are a tiny bit slow than uninformed servers who are fast. This is likely the best place for any meal in Terminal 5.

Customer service is amazing. OMG! This is a brilliant meringue spot! That is all I ordered because I wanted something small and sweet. I ordered the pistachio meringue it was nice solid to touch, but like light and sweet when it touched your tongue. This was the best meringue I have had in a pretty decent time. In a world where travel is expensive and so is the United Kingdom, a good to know tip! if you have children they may eat here for free.

I just ordered take out to try to get more bang for my buck than at the Sofitel and because this place had good reviews… The seafood stew looked great on the menu but unfortunately the mussels tasted super gross and old. The packaging bowl fell apart and had holes… Gross that the paper dissolved. And finally I pushed the mussels aside but kept crunching on small pieces of black shells when I took bites of the rest of it. I hope I’m not sick tonight. Don’t get the seafood!!! Maybe the other stuff is good.

Good food, relaxed environment away from the airport bustle. I had the eggs Benedict and they were quite good. Not what I was used to but I’m American and used to buffet style Benedict. The sauce was a little bland but that’s about it. It was about £10 so I think worth it for the price.

Airport and airplane food are always the worst aren’t they? If you agree, then take a simple piece of advice and go here instead while at Heathrow. I had a meeting with a contractor and it went even better because of the fact that he liked the place and would be kept satisfied for most of his time on the plane. We ordered calamari, mixed olives and cheesy garlic bread to start off with and share between the three of us. The calamari was very tasty and the garlic bread was exactly what I needed. For mains, we got the sea bass, steak and breaded chicken which were nicely flavoured. I’ve been to this restaurant before but in central London so I was looking forward to their potatoes and I wasn’t let down! I was so happy. We had tea and coffee to down everything with and ordered a selection of biscuits to go with it. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, asking us if we were OK and advising on alternatives incase they did not have something available. For starters, main, drinks and tea/coffee the price came up to £80 who I’m sure you too would find it worth the price which really isn’t that bad! Also, Whether or not you’re the traveller, there is a little section filled with Carluccio’s goodies which you can buy. I know where to eat now at Heathrow !

Just another Carluccio’s. Food is served quickly and it’s a good thing because this place gets wildly busy. I was here at 10am and they’d run out of croissants. I’m calling it croissant-gate, keep an eye out for the hashtag on Twitter. Mushrooms on toast is a real winner. Coffee was a little on the weak side which was disappointing for an Italian restaurant. Crepes and yoghurt with mixed berries was very very very sour. My companion left half her plate and shared my breakfast but she did enjoy two cups of bicerin, totally to die for. Service was very friendly. Our waitress was attentive and always smiling.

Good breakfast! Much better than I expected. Service was good too. Had the Colazione Magnifica. It was good value and the orange actually tasted fresh as advertised.

Airport dining can be a real bust, I tell ya. And frankly, does anyone LIKE to go in to the depths of LHR with an ill-equipped belly? However, this little gem(Carluccio’s) is not only pre-security(bring your sendoff or welcoming party!)…but is a better than average airport café with table service or take away! Calazione Magnifica = eggs, pancetta, veggies, toast + juice and coffee for just under 10GBP. Not bad, not bad at all. Cooked fresh, a nice hot meal to last me a 10 hour flight full of granola bars, fruit and the occasional cup of crappy plane coffee. It was bustling(as I’m sure it always is)…and it gives the relaxed feel of being able to rest for a bit, with the efficiency of needing to get somewhere pretty quickly. Check arrived swiftly, credit card processed adequately. Done…be on your way with a bit of sustenance that won’t leave you feeling icky.(looking at you McDonalds-Starbucks-etc).

This is a new Italian chain café that’s opened in the UK since i was there. I have to say I went to 3 of these and all were explicitly clean a very well run. I went for breakfasts on all occasions and the food was fantastic, eggs cooked perfectly(still hot) nothing was swimming in grease. The bread basket sampler is well worth getting if you are not eating meat or eggs. But the main breakfast that includes coffee was wonderful.(see pic Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean too.

I didn’t have very high expectations for breakfast here. I had 20 minutes to kill before they’d let me check in my luggage and I had to leave my hotel in London so early that I hadn’t eaten. Being the only option on this side of security, I thought, «what the hell.» Well, I was very pleasantly surprised. Carluccio’s had great table service, reasonable prices, AND the breakfast was delicious. This breakfast put me in the right mood for dealing with the travel hassles to come in my journey home. I have to say this was the best ‘airport meal’ I’ve had, and, way exceeded my expectation for airport food.

The food is freshly prepared on the premises everyday using the best, fresh and natural ingredients, where possible from Italy. I’m loving it :-)

Will the eating options before security be any better than those inside? This question flew through my jet lagged mind, as I thought of early morning breakfast. Carluccio’s does offer a brief departure(more of the short-haul domestic kind) from everyday airport fare. It’s nice that T5 has an Italian restaurant for travellers intent on spending too much time at the airport, even at the early hour of 8am. What better way to pass time than to review the extensive display of olive oils that will never make it through security? As for the food, however, I feel compelled to note the utterly disappointing eggs benedict. Notably, the cured ham was stone cold. The hollandaise sauce had far too much of an edge on it. I’ll stick to the highly secure restaurants inside from now on.
