Back here after 6 months. Really should go more often. Great place, great food and service. Love the mixed grill plates. Combined with a fresh salad and meal complete. Big food portions!

tl;dr: Ridiculously cheap and very good. £19.50 for a mixed(hot+cold) meze that’s far more food than two hungry people can eat. The people are nice. the falafels are house-made, and they have efes and that lovely sour yougurty drink thing if you’re feeling teetotal-style.

As a resident of Stokie for nearly a decade, Numera 19 Bos Cirrik was more habit forming than any Class A. Featuring a traditional hammered copper grill and a family that’s passionate about delivering some of the best kebabs and Turkish food in London, this Stoke Newington staple is the standard by which all of the other Turkish joints in the area are judged. I’m hard pressed to order anything but the cop shish; tender, deliciously grilled pieces of lamb. Every table is graced with grilled onion salad with pomegranate molasses, a spicy raw onion and sumac salad, a beautiful pile of greens, tomatoes and cucumbers and an unlimited supply of some of the best Turkish bread in North London. Don’t fancy the cop shish? The only way to go is an order of grilled lamb chops — so good you’ll want to write home and curse your mother for never making you something so good. Want to go a little off piste? There’s liver, pigeon, and other unusual cuts to keep the foodie in you happy. Lunch will set you back around 7 quid with a drink… dinner around 10. In fact, you could go there and with mains, drinks and tips end up spending around 15 – 20 quid per person. Bargain for the Big Smoke. Okay, so their starters aren’t the greatest. But who cares? Go for the kebab and you’ll never be disappointed.

excellent food especially the adana kebab, but more pricy than any other kebab restaurants in london.

The food here is still excellent but they seem to have read their own press recently and put the prices up accordingly. My ex used to have a rule of the about this place; 10 quid per head for a nice meal and a beer, 15 quid if you didn’t have an early start the following morning(she never did) and 20 quid if you really wanted to tie one on. Unfortunately, that’s now gone out of the window and I spent 20 quid per head with two children in tow. As I said, still excellent food but, hell, this is Stokey and you’ll find equally good pide-only or ocakbasi places within 8 mins and at half the price. If Cirrik is what you’re after though go to the original incarnation(a.k.a. The mothership) in Dalston

This is a great restaurant. The ownership has changed in the last 18 months and it now is part of the 19 Numara Bos Cirrik group that has it’s other branches in Stoke Newington and Hackney/Dalston. The manager and staff are very hospitable. Carefully prepared, fresh Turkish food served in generous portions. Unfortunately this area of Tottenham seems to have less people living locally that can afford, or are inclined, to eat at 19 Numara Bos Cirrik than the populous around the branches further south. Consequently the generously sized dining room is never packed out. Possibly the business survives on custom on match days from supporters going to watch football at the Spurs ground which is very close by. Fairly handy if you are shopping in the evening at IKEA Edmonton. If you’ve had it up to your eyeballs with Swedish meatballs, fire up the satnav and pop in to 19 Numara Bos Cirrik IV, plenty of parking on the street outside. I am a cheerleader for these guys because I would like to see their business continue to operate in this location.

I love this place. It’s my preferred Turkish restaurant on the high st, and there are quite a few of them. I love the open style grill where food is cooked in front of you. I like the meat dishes, the casseroles, the bread and the pizza. The service is excellent and it’s overall a very clean and stylish venue. My one big problem, and the reason I don’t go here very often, is that as I buy so many kebabs from city kebab just down the street, it’s hard to convince myself, and much harder still to convince my wife, that when we want to go out for a fancy sit down meal, that Turkish is what we are looking for. And that’s a shame, because this is a restaurant with high standards.

Part of a chain of three Turkish restaurants this is the best place to go for mouth-wateringly delicious Turkish food. If you don’t have the biggest of appetites, skip the entrees, as hard as this is to do. I love the haloumi and borek, but if I order it there is no room at all for the massive servings you get for mains. All mains come with bowls of salad, bread and this amazing grilled onion dish that is impossible to make at home. I’ve been told the secret ingredient is pomegranate juice, but even armed with that knowledge it’s just not the same as the one you get here. The meals are massive, my boyfriend and I sometimes share a mixed grill. The shish is always perfect. Beer and wine is cheap and good. The service is top notch. This is a great place to come for a family meal!

Stoke Newington is saturated with welcoming Turkish restaurants, but of all the grill houses 19 Numara Bos Cirrik No 1 stands out. Impeccable grilled meats, long skewers featuring many different cuts of lamb, the skill of the grill. About £12pp ex-drinks.

I’m going there more than twice a month, you can’t imagine before going how delicious is the food. Whatever you choose, they give you starters for free and if you are greedy like me you’ll finish the starters and won’t be able to eat what you ordered. You will always have large portions so you can ask for doggy bag because it’s unbelivable to not eating up. It’s more than cheap so you need to be prepared to see a busy restaurant but I never had to queue up. From Monday to Friday between 12 and 3 o’clock, the lunch menu is at £6.95. They also prepare take-away orders and believe me it’s good to know when you are hungry but don’t have the motivation or simply when you receive friends at the last minute.
