Mmm, I love a good Turkish bakery. This is a classic spot on Stoke Newington High Street. You may have walked by it before, lord knows I had for a long time. But someone dragged me in here for coffee and pastries and it was just what I wanted. Comfortable seating, nice light, friendly staff, they have an epic pastry section behind a glass counter that you cannot miss. I didn’t try any of the food but the coffee was strong and I needed it on that day. We sat and tried, I believe it was baklava but I can’t really remember. Whatever it was, we pointed at it through the glass and ate it and it was delicious. It’s not fancy but it is nice, and sometimes that’s all you’ll need. There’s a giant orange sign announcing the restaurant. Don’t ignore it, go in, you’ll enjoy.
