One of the most spectacular views in Liverpool… it’s breathtaking day or night. Service is always professional and with care. Prices are not extraordinary high, especially if you sit in the bar area.

Hello Unilocal! It’s been a while I’ve been super busy over the past few months moving house! I’m back! Visited here today for my birthday! Wow you’ve got to try this place, we had afternoon tea(my first, yes, my first) and it was beautiful, I’ve a new found love for macaroons, from the minute we walked in to the second we walked out we had fantastic service from all members of staff. The views are fantastic. The food is lovely and who doesn’t like scones? I would love to go back and try the evening menus as it looks exquisite. If you have an occasion, like fine dining and wonderful surroundings this is the place to try. You must book well in advance as it gets fully booked!

My very cool uncle and aunt are over from Perth for a few months at the mo and recently came to visit me in Liverpool. These guys are definitely foodies and go out a lot in their bohemian home town of Fremantle so I felt I had my work cut out for me as a tour guide, not least in the bar and restaurant department. They knew all about The Cavern and had heard about the famous Albert Dock but I don’t think they were expecting what they got when I said«let me take you somewhere nice for afternoon tea…» Maybe they thought I was going to take them for some sort of Beatles themed tea and cakes, I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure they weren’t expecting a suited and booted concierge followed by 34 floor ascent to one of the best views in the North West! I must say the service and the luxury afternoon tea that we chose was just as beautiful as the view(we were very lucky with the weather that day). The service was attentive but not grovelling and the tea… oh my goodness! Smoked salmon, cucumber and dill cream cheese tian(I didn’t even know what a tian was until then!) followed by a gorgeous array of finger sandwiches and then a selection of sweet treats fit for a king or queen including a walnut meringue and a rhubarb and custard tart with ginger crumble. Absolutely divine. Add to this handmade chocolate truffles and a glass of Perrier Jouet Blason Rose champagne and let me tell you, you’ve got two very happy Aussie visitors! £31.50 per person may seem a bit steep but seriously, if you want to treat someone special and show off this fabulous city of ours then take them to Panoramic for afternoon tea. It’ll be an experience they never forget.

Now to be fair when I first came to this place, about 2 years ago I was mighty impressed. And of course I think everyone who steps in here will be considering the unparralled view that awaits you on the 34th floor. However, on a recent visit I could now see the cracks. Unlike the others I was with I really like the 60s/70s feel to the bar area. Very mid 20th century chic, makes me feel like I’m waiting in an airport VIP lounge in a Michael Caine film — but that really ia just me I think — whereas others found it a bit tacky. However it feel a little grubby and considering the prestigious nature of the place and the prices you sort of want everything to be sparkling — I expect that of anywhere bar Le Bateau to be fair. When the waitress came to take our order she didn’t seem too sure what a Rioja was either which is a little worrying — another woman came over to clarify so we did get it, but just as well we weren’t asking for personal reccomendations or a brief description, wine snobs probably wont be too happy. However on a sunny evening — or indeed any time — the impressive view is worth a visit alone.

I’ve given Panoramic 4 stars because of what it is famous for, the 360 degree view of Liverpool and surrounding areas. It is fabulous. There is nothing like eating your dinner on the 34th floor of the West Tower — it’s almost like a restaurant and the Liverpool wheel in one! However, considering the calibre of the restaurant and how popular it is, I wasn’t that impressed with the food. There wasn’t too much choice on the menu, and hardly anything for vegeterians. When the food arrived it was nice enough but there wasn’t a lot of it and I kind of felt like I had to raid the fridge once I got home.

Ok let us be honest, there is only one reason why you would want to come here and that is for the breathtaking«panoramic views». Why wouldn’t you, they really are unparallelled. As for the food, it really is fantastic but I’ve had better in all honesty. I had the goats cheese with cannelloni, pepper salsa and black olives, and would definitely recommend them. My friend however was not too impressed with the suckling lamb which wasn’t quite right. Ironically it was a little too«slowly cooked» yet not quite cooked when it arrived. How could we complain though when surrounded by such visual profundity. The answer is hindsight. While we were there we had no such complaints as you are just immersed the 360 spectacle. Only afterwards when discussing the events of the evening did we recount what our tastebuds had to say at the time. I would imagine a lot of guys will think of proposing here. It just gives you a sense of occasion when you are up there. A must visit for everyone. Although it is pricey and expect to spend in the region of £100+ for a proper meal for two followed by drinks etc etc especially if you plan on proposing.

«The burger, sir, good choice, and would you like a side of vertigo with that?» Panoramic is the tallest restaurant in this here little country we call Britain. 34 floors up where Radio City used to broadcast, as Wayne Campbell says, «Y’know Cassandra… from this height… you could really hock a loogie on someone.» You wouldn’t necessarily want to though, because this is a classy place, with classy food, and a view to either take your breath away or send you scrambling to the nearest exit. Depending on how you feel about being so mile-high, of course. Me, Calgary Tower was a breeze. Easy peasy. Interesting facts about this place… not only does it have super duper high accreditations, from a Michelin recommendation to Taste Liverpool’s Highest Quality assured and do some excellent dishes like scallops with black pudding, seabass with clams, cockles and chorizo, roast turbot with caramelised fennel, none of which are cheap. This is a blow-the-budget kind of treat and to be fair, the food does back up the prices therefore you know it’s not just the view you’re paying for. But what a view. If those nasty clouds don’t scupper your chances you can see Manchester’s Beetham Tower, the Welsh hills and of course the whole of Liverpool, all in a staggering 360 degrees. This is definitely an experience, it might be something you only do once due to the high prices but at least you can say you’ve done it. And you’ll grab some pretty scenic photos too if you remember your camera.

There are relatively few restaurants in Liverpool on the 34th floor, well in fact only this one. The clue is in the name, the views from this venue are truly panoramic and breathtaking. You will be treated to a view of the city centre and back into Liverpool itself but also to the very special view both up and down the great River Mersey and out to the estuary and Irish Sea which is now the home to our local wind farms as it is to the shipping using the port. I f you are lucky or really good planner you may also see one of the more unusual visitors to our port and dock perhaps, a new cruise liner or maybe even a tall ship in all its glory. My favourite view is of the sunset over the Wirral peninsula, in my opinion Liverpudlians have the blessing of some of the best sunsets on the planet. All of this and I have yet to point out that you will also be offered fine food either in the bar and lounge area for great sandwiches and a top range of cocktails or in the a la carte restaurant with its very special use of fresh produce in a range of high class dishes. Splendid indeed!

Expensive but you should splash out and treat your self every now and again. We went for lunch and my mum has been for canapés and cocktails, which if your after somewhere for a little celebration, she said was great. The food was delicious, service impeccable and the views amazing. Treat your self to a desert and cocktail if you don’t want to splash out on the whole deal.

Fantastic views, as the name suggests. The restaurant is on the 34th floor and offers some of the best views of the city and waterfront. The food is great too! It is a bit expensive but the lunchtime menu is reasonable at £18 per person(plus drinks) and is worth a visit for a special occasion. Dress smart!!!
