Greek Taverna

This restaurant never fails to impress and is a firm favourite of my wife’s. They do some fantastic mezzo dishes to share for starters and the lamb just falls off the bone and melts in the mouth.

I must say that one of the best things about the Greek Taverna is the atmosphere; it’s always lively, busy, but not crowded, animated but not noisy. The staff are very welcoming and set customers at ease quickly while service is always prompt and efficient yet friendly and attentive.
The food cam ehighly recommended to me in particularly the lamb. I opted for kalimara and souvlaki– personal favourites while the lamb was choesn by my guest; we were both more than satisfied with everything from the quality of ingredients, the texture and flavour of the food, the standard of presentation and the aformentioned faultless service. We will definitely be returning here.

Greek Taverna is situated in the hub of Waterloo’s South Road amongst many restaurants and bars. It stands out due to its bright blue and white-​style exterior and ‘Greek’ appearance.
Once inside the atmosphere is set by a pianist. This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in awhile, having never dined in the company of a playing musician. A great touch that set a really nice ambiance.
The menu is varied. I was delighted with my choice of tahini to start and kalamari for main, all the food was delicious. Greek Taverna also offer a broad range of beverages and desserts, so I was very content indeed.
It’s always worth ringing before visiting, as the restaurant gets very busy, particularly at the weekends.
