Gap is a worldwide brand which is associated with many of the things which are so good about consumerism. This store on Liverpool One most certainly upholds this world renowned reputation through its excellence and professionalism. Gap stores are supposed to be pleasant and community type places and this store is in keeping with that theme as it is genuinely an enjoyable place to shop. As well as all this the clothes are as usual top quality meaning that you get value for money as well as a good consumer experience. A true Gap store which enhances there awesome reputation.

I have to confess that Gap is never high on my priorities when considering new clothes. I rarely head for this store when out shopping as my natural inclinations are that it is a bit preppy and a little American in its style. I have recently been drawn in to the store because of its sale and been really impressed with its range of men’s items. It’s still very down and to earth with little in the way of anything too trendy or fashionable but this can be an advantage if you are looking for staple items for your wardrobe.

Gap certianly remain to be as reliable as ever in their quest to literally fill the gap that it was created for. The lines they sell don’t seem to be replicated along the high street in a comparable way in terms of quality and style. Gap also seems to be one of the few high street shops that reamins to have a universal age appeal, despite being accused of blandness and having a bit of a beige persona I think Gap is one of the best shops on the street and the Liverpool ONE branch is no excepetion. The sales in here are definately not to be missed with jumpers and jeans actually springing up from half their original price tag, I’ve picked up jeans in the Gap sales before that have well outlasted their more expensive competitors in terms of quality and style. Gap styling cues does change from time to time but it seems slightly reassuring that amongst that implied blandness that at least something you pikc up with one high street shop will at least still be suitable for next weeks trend settings. Gap jeans are certainly not to be missed without a sale costing around £40 they still represent respectable value for the wear and tear that they are capable of taking.

Gap has come a long way since Doris and Don Fisher opened their first store in San Francisco in 1969. Now a global player with thousands of stores under their belt, Gap still sell good quality jeans that fit and look great. As this store demonstrates however, they’ve branched out into new areas including babywear, childrenswear and maternity wear. If I had kids myself, I might be tempted to splash out and buy something from the Stella McCartney capsule range. As it is, I usually go once or twice a year for a new pair of their Bootleg or Slim fit jeans; they wear better than other jeans and are unbelievably comfy.

If, like me, you enjoy dressing a bit like prince harry or a member of a southern Californian yacht club then you’ll no doubt already do quite a lot of your shopping at Gap. The brand’s sales must have taken off recently, what with the nautical trend being plugged by every billboard and colour supplement and this branch is certainly doing its best to market itself as a den of needful things for the Liverpool-based fashionista. The mannequins and tables are piled with horizontal navy stripes, distressed granddad-neck shirts and rolled up chinos. It’s all quality stuff(my Gap jeans have lasted me four years, in various states of looseness and tightness) and the fit is usually comfortable and flattering. Of course it is all a bit pedestrian looking — just how many autumnal coloured jumpers and stripy rugby shirts can you really need — and not all that cheap(unless you manage to get a decent bargain off the sale rail as you walk into the store). but still, it’s consistent at least — the stuff may even last until the nautical trend comes in again in a few years time.

I love Gap clothes especially the children’s range, they are such fab quality and always look gorgeous on and fit well. The childrens clothes are probably a bit expensive to buy for everyday wear but for special occasion(christmas, holidays etc) then they are beautiful. I love the childrens summer range as they are so pretty. The women’s and men’s clothing range are not a special or nice as there childrens but still very good quality. I would say the best thing to buy in gap is the jeans, they are very well tailored and fit very good. The shop is well laid out with mens on the bottom, womans on the first floor and childrens on the top. It is a clean and tidy store and there is plenty of space to move about compared to other big stores.
