Awesome food and service in a great atmosphere. See longer review under west port express.

A little further away than most other bars on the main stretch of Linlithgow, the West Port Hotel is still worth a visit every now and then. Offering a cosy environment to watch the game and enjoy a quiet pint, at night the place turns into a mini-disco and is a popular haunt for the people of West Lothian. The food is also excellent top notch pub grub.

I would agree with the previous comment about the food, I had good experiences and bad experiences, the service is not that great, they are friendly just very young, last time I was there one of our table had half their food spilled down their clothes by the waiter. Prices for food is decent so no complaints there. Very small but cosy, prices for drinks are expensive go next door to save 25−40p off a pint/vodka and the staff try their hardest to push you out the door early. It is a shame because the bar décor is nice and has a lot of potential

Set in this lovely little historic town this restaurant really does have its ups & downs. I have had superb food & dreadful food. At its best there is beautiful tender meat served with unusual sauces followed by wonderful puddings. At its worst just don’t go there !! Prices are good. Décor is modern & staff are friendly although sometimes disinterested. You can eat in the bar which has a real fire in the winter. Reasonable but not exciting wine list. There is parking at the rear or outside St Ninian’s Church just along the road road. The restaurant is part of a hotel but I have never stayed.
