Not being Yorkshire born and bred myself I fear that I may incur the wrath of locals here, but as far as I was aware a scuffler was a sort of light breadcake that used to be fairly common in this part of the world. Bizarrely, they don’t seem to sell scufflers in Scufflers, but as the staff all seem at least 200% more Yorkshire than me, I don’t want to risk telling them. And besides, they sell tasty, generously filled sandwiches instead, the sort that remind me what sandwiches used to be like before ciabatta bread and carb-counter’s portions took over the world. So I forgive them, I think.
