Oldfield Lane Fisheries

If ever I wished for the ability to give half stars…
Oldfield Lane Fisheries is very much a traditional chippie, it doesn’t try to do a vast array of take away foods as more and more chippies seem to be doing but instead sticks largely to doing fish and chips and doing them well.
I gained intense pleasure from my food (and I don’t do pleasure very often these days). My only beef (can I say that when reviewing a piscine business?) was the size of the fish which was slightly smaller than I am accustomed to but I have to say it was perfectly cooked and this anti-​batter person found himself enjoying each crisp, flavoursome nibble.
(I was going to go 3.5 stars because of the size issue but I just loved that flavour so much)
