Global Crystals

I had walked past Global Crystals before I entered, and even then I didn’t enter out of choice of my own. It isn’t the kind of shop that would draw me in straight away. I feel what they are offering is possibly for a very specialist market.
Global Crystals sells minerals, gems, crystals and stones for jewelery or individual gems and stones already placed in some gorgeous pieces such as rings and stoned necklaces.
The necklaces don’t hold diamonds and the rings don’t behold a classic pearl, so for me their jewelery isn’t my cup of tea! If you like your jewelery a little bohemian and a little «hippy» however, this is your place. Some stones they sell are even said to be healing stones which is a theory many believe heavily in so their member of staff told me.
If this shouts out to any of you, you must pop in when in town. You can shop here on a budget with rings starting at £7 or shop for some pure stones and pay £250 or so! Handily located in town it could slot quite nicely into your shopping trip if you fancy it.

I think I may have confessed before that I’m a bit of a human magpie, and just as I find it impossible to walk past an antique jewellers, any shop with crystals in the window exerts a magnetic draw upon my person. I expect that to most people, crystals look the same but there is in fact a huge difference in quality and there’s probably only one genuine, quality vendor out there for every 20 tourist traps selling scuffed rose quartz to clueless hippies. Happily, Global Crystals has some beautiful stock, with some really spectacular high-​end pieces, a good selection of mid-​priced crystals and the obligatory tumbled stones. If you’re a genuine collector you’ll get quickly annoyed at accompanying nonsense like ‘crystal essences’ and soy candles (I’ve got no idea), but the pieces, ranging in price from £5 to £300 and above, are worth the risk, and the merely curious will find plenty here to satisfy, including a range of books on the subject of crystals and more general new age fare.
