I love candy hero. There’s 2 shops that sell retro and imported sweets in Leeds(the other is in the arcades) and I have to say, this is far better than the other one. It has a bigger range and something for everyone. I especially love the pick n mix jelly belly counter that saves you from the awful flavours you really don’t like. Candy hero have also got me hooked on butterfingers… it is a bit pricey but I guess it’s to be expected as they are imported sweets but I love this shop and I would reccomend it to anyone :) it’s a haven for sweet-a-holics like me! They also do a range of hot drinks that include crazy flavoured teas and hot chocolates and some come with free candy which is even better! They also do cold drinks like jelly belly sodas and an array of cans of drinks, energy drinks and other weird and wonderful drinks(blood pouches etc: P) They also do single pop tarts and bowls of imported cereals like froot loops so you don’t have to pay a crazy amount of money for a box :) If your in Leeds, definitely go check this place out! It’s amazing!

As an American living in Leeds, I of course had to enter this place and felt so happy to see all my favourite sweets. It was so nice to see a Butterfinger after so long, and even my beloved Lucky Charms(regular and chocolate!) were staring back at me. If I was living in England permanently I would have picked some up, but I decided I will be back home in some time and rather not pay 4 quid for a small box when I’ve got some perfectly good Frosties(or Frosted Flakes as they’re named in the U.S.A.) sitting in the kitchen anyway. There are lots of sweets to choose from, even some I never even bother with when I’m home, but that’s mainly because I can be a creature of habit with my food. Peanut butter M&Ms are probably the thing I’d pick up next time I’m in this shop. They also have different soda(pop) varieties available. The shop seems very clean and organised and hopefully it’s not just because it just opened. This place is a bit pricey, but I do understand they’re importing sweets, so if you must have your American sugar fix then this is a great place to find it.

This is a great little shop and it’s very difficult not to float in when passing by. I have developed an addiction to Butterfingers, which an assistant was restocking as I entered to my delight. This assistant I must say was very friendly and kind, and I was really presently surprised at her knowledge on the products on offer!(By the way she had brown hair with pink in, she deserves to be recognised as her service was really very good) We often spend a while in this place, just looking at the vast array of sugar laden treats and drinks on offer, many of which are reminiscent of things featured in films and American tv, which is often the appeal to see what all the fuss is about. All the vegetarian candies are labelled too which is an outstanding and conscientious touch. My boyfriend couldn’t help but select an alarming amount of his favourite flavours of the Jelly Belly on offer, which is great and enables you to avoid those god awful flavours which result in eating a pre-made box of Jelly Belly some kind of Russian roulette. They also have a selection of candies which can be free when purchasing a hot drink. I have not tried their drinks, but as you can imagine their selection of flavours, particularly hot chocolates, is not disappointing. They also serve single Pop Tarts, and portions of cereals such as Lucky Charms which is great if you want the taste without forking out for a hole box, which your teeth and arteries will thank you for. It’s great to see that this shop is always busy, and I hope it’s success remains; they seem to have got everything just right.

I remember walking past that shop before it opened and looking at the candy hero banner saying it opening soon. I couldn’t wait! I love novelty sweets and that shop is a mecca for me. Also gave me the golden ticket to show off at my D&D group! A 20sided dice lollipop! Even though it was a bit pricey(£3.30) it was so big that i was licking and licking and felt a bit never ending and also were else you’d find a shop that you can get something like that straight away without having to do a £15+ min order and wait for 1 – 2 weeks to get it. So they’re excused. Also they have a PICKANDMIXJELLYBELLYBAR!!! No more getting random flavors you don’t like, just take a bag and fill it! While i was checking their website i noticed they have lip balms with the flavors of nacho, cupcake, french fries, pickle, wasabi and bacon. Haven’t seen them at the shop but i might have missed them. Going to have a look this afternoon and accordingly update the review.
