Giraffe have a great variety of healthy(and not so healthy) meals. What really makes them special within the Bluewater food court is that they have their own dedicated restaurant space. It’s so well done that you completely forget your in the hustle and bustle of a massive shopping center! The food was amazing taste-wise, I went with a farmers market burrito(a vegetarian concoction) and it was amazing. Unfortunately, both my meal and my girlfriends steak sandwich were cold within a minute of being placed in front of us. It’s a really relaxing environment too, there’s a foozeball table in the center right next to a full bar with a pretty extensive cocktail list. I had a Mojito and would say it’s a bit on the strong side, you could only really taste alcohol(but that may be your thing). For dessert we both had their Key Lime Pie… AMAZING is all I can say. I’ve had Key Lime Pie before but never live this. It was definitely something special. All in all I’d recommend them — they lost some marks for the lukewarm food(would’ve got 4 otherwise)

We were after somewhere in Bluewater that would have decent food with its own sit down place, not being in the mood to battle the crowds for a seat in that food court. The huge novelty giraffe in the middle of this place won me round, so Giraffe it was. First off, the service was pretty good. Lots of smiley staff keen to help and have a laugh. We ordered a mojito and a melon mama smoothie for drinks and the mojito would put you over your daily unit allowance in one gulp, it was so strong. Phew! The melon mama was gorgeous though, and it reminded me of Jupiter in the glass, all orange, yellow and red swirls. Very cool. For food, we ordered a grilled steak sandwich and a Farmers Market burrito, both of which came pretty quickly so that’s all good. But then we got to the disappointment. The steak sandwich came barely warm and only had about four bits of steak in it, and a WHOLELOAD of caramelised onion. I’m not sure if it’s meant to be cold or not, but when we said something to the waitress after, she seemed surprised so I’m guessing not. Definitely not worth the £10 it cost for sure and the reason it has the rating it does. After that meal, we weren’t holding out too much hope for the key lime pie we ordered to share but OHMYGOD I’M INLOVE. The base was amazingly short, crisp and crumbly, the cheesecake bit almost mousse-like and it came with a lime marmelade which just made the whole thing absolutely stunning. I’ll be going back for that bit alone. NOMNOMNOM.
