This place is an out door persons dream shop. While your partner is in the apple shop, you could be in here planning your next out doors. Very clean shop, and in a prime location.

I really like North Face’s products and it seems everyone else does too. They are quite expensive for everything. Thankfully they do have sales and you can usually get a nice coat on sale if you can wait for it. The discount is never very high though. This location can be easy to miss-it’s in between the Apple store and Urban Outfitters. It’s a small place so if it’s busy you can be overwhelmed and there aren’t that many staff so you have to hunt for them. They are usually overworked looking. They have some of the North Face shoes for both women and men. I didn’t see any kids coats but they may have some. I do want to add their Thermoball jackets are great. They are insanely expensive but lightweight and very warm. Nicely paired with a rain jacket.

I ventured in looking for women’s tops. In any other clothing store I can fairly confidently pick up a «Medium» and know it will fit. Not so here with their unique sizing policy. I started with«Medium», tried«Large» and ended up with«Extra Large»! I swallowed my pride and made my purchases. The sales assistant explained that the sizing policy leads to a lot of disappointed customers not being catered for. At least the labels will not be visible. Their range is all good, but there is a lot of other competition located nearby, and The North Face is limited in their clothing size range.

If you are into the outdoors then the North Face is for you. Need a new hill walking jacket? Some good quality shoes for an adventure? Or a strong bag that can withstand the weight of Uni books without bursting, North Face have it all. The prices aren’t the cheapest but sometimes you have to pay a little bit more for quality goods and you won’t mind parting with your hard earned cash for the beauties stocked here. The staff are also very knowledgeable about their stock and will be able to help you pick out a fetching new cagoule. North Face is good, but as Laura mentioned, if you’re looking for hard core outdoor adventure items Blacks, Millers or Tiso are probably better.

I’ve always quite liked the idea of fearlessly scaling a Munro, fending off altitude sickness and lack of oxygen, battling the harshest elements, before victoriously planting my flag at the top. Sadly, this, and my intention to conquer the West Highland Way, seem like the vast majority of my grandiose plans destined to drift into oblivion. At least with The North Face about, I can have a browse around and dream about camping stoves, cagouls, and functional, rugged footwear.

Like Steven, I’m not much of an outdoor person; but I could be. In fact, I’m even quite eager to drive head first into it — a couple of weeks of the year anyway. These usually means several long weekends sitting up a loch eating fire-cooked bacon butties and washing them down with cold cider by the boy’s side. Now, that’s what I call a holiday. And so, we wandered in here a few weeks ago. The shop itself is large, well laid out and the merchandise is clearly displayed as are the prices. All of which is nice and makes the shopping experience more pleasant. However, I didn’t spot anything special in here and will probably be returning to Blacks or Millers more regularly. Still, it is nice to have another shop like this available for some window shopping, at the very least.

Despite being a big fan of North Face products, I was a tad underwhelmed by this shop. OK, it looks great, the staff are knowledgable and I think the unique Glasgow range of stock they offer is a nice touch. However, it’s densely populated, and ultimately a two minute scout around and I was done, leaving empty-handed. Nevertheless, it’s good to see such a big hitter in the outdoor world open a shop in Buchanan Street, underlining its reputation as one of the swishest High Streets in the city. How about another rail of t-shirts though?

In shouting distance of Tiso, this store is a curiousity — particularly given that Tiso stock alot of North Face clothing and equipment. Having said that, this is a cracking shop. There’s loads of stock, but well presented so there’s room to move around and try them out. The staff know the score as well which helps, but being the amateur ourdoorsman that I am(I think that even counts as over-selling myself, to be fair) I never really get the benefit. Well worth checking out if you’re after camping gear or windproof jackets or whatever it might be. It has everything you would expect, and some more things you might not expect like those big funky yellow suits that are just like having a human-shaped sleeping bag on. If only I had the money.
