Working on site in Bridgeton has left me with very few choices when it comes to somewhere for lunch. I could dander down to West, but the odds of me returning to work would be pretty slim. So most lunchtimes I find myself in Sucre. There is a new special posted everyday, a selection of soups, toasted paninis, wraps and sandwiches. The food isn’t going to win awards but it is hot, tasty and cheap(the special is only £3). There isn’t a huge selection of drinks either, but you can get the usual tea and coffee. The staff are incredibly friendly, and you can tell they a steady supply of daily repeat customers. There is a small seating area but it is definitely more geared towards take-away. The food is not going to beat the likes of Piece but if you find yourself in Bridgeton and in need of lunch you could do a lot worse than Sucre. It’s definitely better than going to the Greggs next door.

There’s not a lot in the area, but Sucre offers much more than plain filled rolls. Nice but over-hot coffee, fresh soups(variable quality) and a good selection of freshly made to order filled baguettes, bagels and panini’s complete with interesting names. Cold pasta boxes can be bought too. Very friendly service and although there are seats this is best as carry out. I believe they do catering. This is far better than the bland Greggs next door. And the cakes and treats look far more appealing.

Love it. Only place in Bridgeton that sells good food at a great price. Beats Greggs next door hands down on value and quality and on nutrition. Greggs I’ll never be back!

Set in the soon to be beautiful Bridgeton area of Glasgow, Sucre coffee shop is a hidden jem, with it’s gorgeous food which you can see the care thats gone into it and whats got to be the best coffee in the area. Sucre has a very cosy feel to it which is help along by the great staff who work well together and keep a good conversation with their customers. In the ten minutes i had to wait for my order I wished it would take them longer just so i could stay. It has great pricing with most sandwiches or panni £2.50 and a Matthew Algie coffee at only £1.70 with a choice of sweetbird syrups. I will be making it my normal stop on the way to the office.
