Powerleague

As a visitor from the states, I was a little worried about the distance walking from the Hilton Glasgow across town, but it didn’t take but 15 minutes. A good warm up. I just showed up and hoped to jump in a game that was short men. I lucked out and some guys asked me in. Good bunch of football lovers of all skills.
The bar also carries ESPN (not something all the bars and pubs seem to carry) so a lot of additional games Sky isn’t carrying are always on.
Only con is that the artificial pitches were a lot less padded than I’m used to playing on. The one we were on seemed a bit hard but overall, the pitches were pretty nice.
Word from the front desk is that it may be easier to find a pick up game during the week rather than on the weekend. If the Rangers or Celtic are playing that night, don’t expect a lot of games — expect cancellations :)
