So last year I finally bit the bullet and joined a «gym». I know I know, its the in thing to do now where you have to check into the gym on facebook and let EVERYONE know because everyone knows if you don’t check in then the workout never happened. Same principle as if a deer farts in the woods and no one is around to hear it then did it happen? kinda thing. Anyway, I knew roughly what crossfit was and knew it would be beneficial to me due to my love of obstacle racing. First lesson, crossfit isn’t a «gym»! You want to go to your gym with your little water bottle and chat with your pal while you are on the treadmill for 20 mins then go join a gym. You want to workout and get real changes in as short as 6 weeks? Join Omnipotent crossfit! The coaches are all well trained and offer encouragement as you go along. Sometimes they shout at you to push out that last rep and you are struggling like f**k and are thinking«Dude!!! can you not see I’m about to blow out my sphincter I’m pushing that hard!!!». They have offered encouragement so many times I was ready to hit them on a few occasions. However, I realise they were doing it for my benefit and wouldn’t you know it, it paid off! Feeling a hell of a lot better after 3 months albeit with a christmas absence due to usual lazy excuses for not going at that time of year. So if you have made a new years resolution and want to see attainable goals become a reality then come down to omnipotent crossfit. Its actually fun and you will make some new awesome friends!
