Wee and delicious!!! Neat and clean!!! Friendly and comfortable!!! A small chalet in the city. That succeeds in getting you away from the busy streets of the city. The perfect get-away for a Friday night… After a week of work. The menu is also limited but also complete. Certainly go for the cheese fondue and the raclette!!! Yummy!!! For the perfect ending of such a lovely night out… Go for the chocolate fondue!!! Oh lala!!! Attention though!!! Bring your own wine!!! We were not entirely sure that we had to bring our own bottle. Luckily enough the co-operative next door satisfied our need… However… You can be better prepared… If I was going to make one comment it would be on the menu choices… I loved the menu. But I would be more satisfied if I could choose the platter which would accompany my fondues… All in all… Pick up the phone… Make the reservation and go… Maybe today???

Loved this wee little fondue place! I had no idea it was so close to my flat despite having lived in the west end for years, so when I saw it featured on Unilocal and read the reviews I had to try it! My pal and I weren’t too hungry and she was just getting over a breakup so I thought chocolate fondue would be just the thing to cheer her up. There was only one other couple in the restaurant when we arrived, despite it being a Saturday night, so we virtually had the place to ourselves! The fondue was rich and dark with strawberries, raspberries and bananas, although we could have used a bit more fruit as we were left eating the melted chocolate with our spoons by the end!(I know, I’m a monster). There was a French couple who sat down next to us after a while and they ordered the raclette with potatoes which looked and smelt amazing! They were raving about the good in French so I think that serves as the mark of authenticity! They don’t have a license right now but charge £5 per bottle of wine corkage fee. I thought that a little steep but with the cost of a cheapish bottle of wine was still probably less than you’d pay in any other fondue place. They were cranking out garage and house tunes from a wee radio(also think I heard ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’ at one point) which I personally loved but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. There was only one member of staff on(possibly the owner) who was very polite and attentive and then the chef in the back, so it’s quite a calming and cosy place wth none of the usual restaurant hustle and bustle. I loved the chalet theme and will definitely be back to try some of their savory items!

I was so excited to try fondue, and after seeing Briony’s review, I just HAD to go for some gooey cheesey goodness! Booked a table for two at 730pm and went over for dinner with my partner. The owner(I assume) was easy to speak to and was very welcoming! He explained everything to us, from the fondue details to the raclette to the chocolate fondue dessert. I have to go back to try the raclette! We were watching the table beside us eating the cheese and we were so tempted, but refrained from being greedy haha. The fondue was great! So super cheesey and I think there was a touch of alcohol/wine in there! It was great with the bread and vege(we opted for a vege option this time, to maintain our«healthy-ish» diet haha). We had potatoes as well, which complimented everything. I was full by the time we finished, seriously. But I insisted on having the chocolate fondue for dessert. How could we not? They served it with strawberries, kiwi, pineapple and bananas! Great, refreshing way to cleanse the palette indeed. Cost between two people in total was £36. I really loved this restaurant. Owner was super friendly and accommodating, food and dessert was delicious and extremely fun to play with and the space is so comfy and warm, it really felt like a chalet. Will definitely be back to try the raclette and meat platter!

What could be more fun than fondue? Nothing! L’epicerie Beaumartin closed to transform from a deli into this wee restaurant serving fondue and raclette(to be honest, I’m still not sure what this actually is). We were there on a Friday night and thankfully had a booking as the place was totally full — there was a table of about 12 and then us(table of 6) at the rest of the tables. It’s a very small space but when you’re with friends, that doesn’t matter, and it makes it feel quite authentic. The options are simple: raclette or fondue. Then you pick some things to go into the fondue: vegetables, potatoes or meats. Bread comes as standard. It didn’t take long for the fondue to get set up at our table and it was just as delicious as I’d dreamed — a great combo of cheeses, nice and oozy and indulgent. I think the bread works the best as a dipping item but it was nice to have the other veggies to try as a change of pace. We also tried the dessert fondue(chocolate, of course) which comes with strawberries and banana. The pace of service is relaxed and it’s BYO booze with £5 corkage going to charity. For all that fondue and food(I was totally stuffed) it came to around £20 per person which I thought was pretty reasonable. I really enjoyed our night here as it was pretty fun and something different from the standard! Note: cash only at the moment(nearest cash machine is at The Co-Op just down the road). They have a selection of soft drinks available inc ginger beer.

Oh my god Fondu! Amazing words can’t express the food, service, atmosphere can’t wait to come back! Price is great the ambience, everything it’s a taste of France and completely makes you not think your in Glasgow on a rainy night. The noise level little and was full house.

Oh this tiny little French place is just as fabulous as the West End gets, people! The Chalet Beaumartin is conveniently situated on Great Western road close to the Kelvinbridge subway station, but keep your eyes wide open to find it, because it’s really wee! I think it sits about 12. I went for the first time last week with my Bookclub pals and it was just perfect: we shared a fondue, a raclette, a plate of cold cuts and generous portions of veg, potatoes and yummi baguette bread. The fondue is made with three cheeses, depending on what the chef has in stock. It was comté, Swiss Gruyère and Emmental for us this time… such bliss! The raclette is regular raclette cheese, absolutely perfect. And I also raved on the Corsican coppa and rosette de Lyon. Salivating just to think about them! As if this was not enough, we had a fruit and chocolate fondue for dessert. I mean, either you do things properly or you don’t. I’m a bit if a snob when it comes to chocolate, so I would not say it was the best(mainly because it was milk and I like dark) but I really can’t complain at all: when running out of fruits, we finished the chocolate with spoons, so, erm… yes. I also really like the fact that you can byob and corkage(£5) goes to charity! Plus, you’ll get to practice your French… que demander de plus?!
