This place has been on the agenda for quite a while and I finally made it on Wednesday. The review just needs to be on a drinks basis as we did not have food. I love the name and the theme runs through the bar with black rabbits on the menus and the walls. It all looks very cool and hipster-ish. Beer menu was a bit disappointing as the options were limited in my opinion. However there is about 9 choices, so maybe I am just picky. However there is a lot of cool bars nearby offering much better variety. Anyways had a Samuel Adams and it was nice. Food menu looked appealing and I will be back to try some food. The 3 for 1 Tuesday pizza offer looks like it could be great value. Finally the bit that perhaps sets this place apart … The super friendly staff! They might not of known what the name of the cocktail of the week was, but they made up for it with being so bloody cheery! Nice to feel so welcome in a Glasgow bar, they make a real effort and it works. I will be going back as first impressions have been very good for a place to have a few pints, but once I try the food I will give a update!

Absolutely love this place!!! Gotta be the friendliest wee bar in the West End for sure. We popped in one Saturday evening and were welcomed by the bar staff who came out from behind the bar to offer us a seat. They were so attentive. We opened a tab and as soon as we were nearly finished our drinks, over they would come and ask us if we would like something else. There was a dj playing some ambient sounds which created a great atmosphere, not too loud that we couldn’t hear. A week later, in we went again, they recognised us, remembered exactly what we had the week before and they were on the case pronto. Most bars you go in don’t even remember you’ve been in before, let alone what you drink when you’ve only been in once before. Not yet tried the menu but will report back for sure when I do. Hats off to these guys. This is totally my new favourite oasis.

I needed lunch, I was in the area and I’d mentally(and Unilocal) bookmarked this place as a place to visit. When I walked in there were quite a few people dotted around the place but none of them seemed to be eating so I wasn’t sure they did food. They do, thankfully and I had a look over the menu. Seems pretty straightforward: pizza, ciabatta, salads as well as burgers. I went for soup(Cullen Skink) and also got carrot sticks and hommous as a side(I don’t even really know why). Perched up on the stool seating near the window, this was a comfy spot and good for people watching. It is quite small, but not in a squishy way. Well, not at lunch time at least. Had a really nice drink of a soda & lime too which tasted really good(I’ve had some seriously bad soda & limes in my time). Food arrive quickly and was presented really nicely on a board with the soup in a mug. The soup was faultless, creamy, rich and chunky. Served with two slices of really fresh bread(which I’m trying to avoid just now) which looked too soft for me to resist. Hommous was really tasty and the carrot sticks were freshly chopped but perhaps cut a little fine for dipping as they were a bit bendy. Not annoying enough to lose a star though. Music was interesting for lunch time, a little bit hip hop and a little bit loud but not irritating. Bill came to around £7 and service was friendly, helpful and smiley. I can see myself going back here quick-smart to get the 241 pizza deal to suss out if everything else is as good as what I had.

I love this place. Really small but soooo friendly. Was worried it would be full of students or Viper crowd but actually it’s a real mix of people and has possibly the best spot on Great Western Road for people watching. Fridays and Saturdays get really busy so get in early. But it’s open late, has a lovely welcome every time and tunes are awesome on a weekend. 3 for 1 pizzas on a Tuesday too! Can’t grumble with that.

Grabbed a couple of pizzas and pints before a game on Saturday and thought they’d just about got it spot on. Pizzas were thin and crispy, and coming in at 2 for a tenner can’t really go wrong. Only downside is draught beer is limited to Grolsch only and I’m not a huge fan. They do have a small selection of bottled options though. Perhaps not the most comfortable, but I’m used to eating pizza on a wall in Byres Road, so I’m getting a bit more classy as the years role on. I’d certainly give The Black Rabbit another go

I love Black Rabbit! Been here a few times for drinks and once for the 2 for 1 pizza, which was insanely good. It’s teeny tiny so can get pretty full pretty quickly, but if you can get a table I’d encourage you to go in for at least a beer. The beer and spirit selection is top notch and you can tell the guy who owns the joint has put a fair amount of thought into what to stock, if the beer you want isnt in, he’ll recommend something for you which is just as good.

Living locally I have seen these premises be many things over the years and nothing has ever seen to stay long here, it has been a few restaurants over the years from Persian to non descript space fillers. It was with interest that my partner and I went here a couple of weeks ago on a hot sunny afternoon, unusual for this neck of the woods. The atmosphere was relaxed, more of a bar vibe than restaurant, the décor was modern with a few twists, wooden box feature I particularly noticed. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good, I had a meatball ciabatta and my partner went for a chicken salad ciabatta and we had a hummus board to start which came nicely presented with carrots and bread arranged in a Jenga game fashion. As it was a nice day the inside was empty, everyone was enjoying the seating area outside which is a welcome addition. When it came to paying the bill we had a few problems with the till system but just a minor teething glitch in an otherwise enjoyable experience. I do hope that this place survives when others in the same spot have failed remarkably quickly, here’s hoping

New joint! I’m a new biz junkie. I see a new place, I need to hit it. This one popped up out of the blue on the road that is both great and western. In a smallish type venue, it feels quite european in comparison to the sprawling bar type creatures nearby. With a limited amount of seats indoors, it feels more like a little coffee shop or smallish restaurant than yer usual bar. And, I suppose in truth, that’s probably what it’s aimed at. With a nice wee selection on the menu, pizzas being the stand out offer(2−4−1 offers on), it’s a nice joint to grab some grub with a mate or two with a beer/wine and then ove along. It’s a nice joint, aimed maybe more at the eat and drink crowd. I shall return!
