I experienced a poor haircut (total cost of the cut and colour was in the order of 130 pounds) but an ok colour. I have very curly hair and was quite specific about how it needs to be cut. I was trying to grow out a long bob and the stylist merely took two minutes to tidy up the ends… Nothing more. She then proceeded to straighten my hair with irons. I usually get a blow wave with a brush but I have since been informed that this is not the «ethos» of the salon… I’m sorry — does a whale die because someone does a blow wave with a brush? The most ridiculous thing I have heard. Anyway, I tool my chances and went back and complained about the cut. They offered to do it again at a 50% discount and, given I am new to Edinburgh, I agreed. Big mistake. Felt like a leper in the salon. The cut was so severe I tied my hair up when I left. Including the «50% discount» and colouring, it cost me 147 pounds!!! My hair has been hacked, I was made to feel like a b*&^h, and I still got charged a fortune. This salon is crap. It has no atmosphere. The staff are dour and rude. They’re «ethos» has no basis and they do not know how to treat their customers. I will not be going back!

Vey good salon. Highly trained stylists who take their time to get the best results.
Probably at the top end of most budgets but as they say ‘You are worth it!’

Totally terrible DO NOT VISIT AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS I thought by chosing a well known Salon such as this I would end up with a lovely colour– HUGE MISTAKE!
If I had wanted orange hair with peroxide highlights (and a burnt scalp) then I would have just gone to the chemist and done it myself. It would have been better than what I have been left with from here! Staff were friendly until I started to complain. Then I was told that it was what I had asked for.
£110 for this, I really don’t think so Although the head colourist did attempt to fix the mess made by his collegue, I was eventually and very rudely told to leave by the manager in tears infront of my young son. He had already also pointed out my hair was orange a few hours beforehand (not bad for 3 really) but we were totally ignored and told we were wrong. Terrible customer service and total rudeness from the manager. Her staff could definately teach her a thing or two about manners as well as basic customer service! I am left to find somewhere that can fix this total mess and am stuck with a hat until this is done. THANKS VERY MUCH VIDAL SASSOON!!! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR EMOTIONS ON THIS JOKE OF A SALON***

5 star salon! Perfect central location, lovely spacious clean salon, brilliant friendly staff, can’t fault it! The staff are very well trained and know what they are talking about, they listen to you and always aim to give you exactly what you are looking for. Definitely the best salon I have visited in Edinburgh.
