We have a winner here. Yes, it’s a classic old man’s pub but it plays music I like, serves beers and whiskies I like, and the pub quiz with Doctor Paul on Sundays is fab. Maybe I’m an old man now? This place also serves excellent pub grub in good-sized portions the likes of which we almost never see any more in Austerity Britain. A great big burger and loads of chips? Yeah! Real, made-each-day soups, shepherd’s pie, BLTs, steaks, fish and chips. Nothing ground-breaking but all of it made carefully and served cheerfully. Kids are welcome before 8 and offered half portions of regular people food. Nice crowd. Nice staff. Yep. I like it in here.

This place has a beautiful wood island bar with a high ornate ceiling. This would be a perfect location for a movie.

We were here twice in the same day. Don’t ask.
This is a nice pub. The eats aren’t super fancy, but it’s a pub afterall. The service was good. And they had a variety of ciders. My personal favourite being the strawberry lime (or maybe it’s strawberry kiwi). Either way, it’s tasty.
