Why am I reviewing a pharmacy I hear you ask? It’s just a pharmacy, right? Well, yes, it is a pharmacy. It sells all the things pharmacies sell: Paracetamol, Tissues, Toiletries, those weird cherry sweet things that taste awful. The usual. They also, obviously, do prescriptions. However, I do have a sound reason for reviewing Payton & Finlay. It’s just so damn charming. The window is displayed with old apothecary bottles on a suspended wire shelf. The outside dons a huge gold pestle and mortar to indicate pharmacy status. Inside, original beams adorn the ceiling, while a lovely old clock overlooks the place. The staff are really helpful too. As my good friend Sam C. said, motherly. I went in this morning nursing a sore head, for obvious reasons. I was greeted with a smile then a completely justified parental look of disapproval and given the medicine I needed. Makes me want to be ill every day.

Reminiscent of an archaic apothecary but housing all the modern remedies you could possibly need, this Bruntsfield pharmacy is a neat little one stop shop. The ladies that work their have the caring motherly qualities usually associated with your own blood, except they offer this to all their customers. Busily scurrying around for the recommended cure to my ailment I found the staff provided sufficient help and advice to send me on way a healthy and happy man.
