This place is my go to in Edinburgh for bubble tea. It’s not the most authentic bubble tea experience(limited tea and bubble choices and I find the milk teas VERY milky). What makes me come back again and again is, it’s so gosh darn comforting. I prefer a warm bubble tea from here over hot chocolate any day, bonus points they have the most lovely staff — they must have a no meanie clause when it comes to employees. The shop is small but lovely and pink — which is my most favourite colour at the moment. Love a good wee frisky on an afternoon out!

I had my first frozen yoghurt yesterday(yes, I know I’m years behind the trend) from Frisky. I’ve been in a few times for bubble tea, but never the froyo. A huge array of toppings was a bit overwhelming, which coupled with the large festival queue led to me panic-picking things that I knew what they were straight away without asking questions about some of the unusual toppings on offer. I thoroughly enjoyed my chocolate froyo with raspberries, marshmallows and smarties, and I’ll definitely be back when it’s a bit quieter to sample some of the other offerings!

Blaaargh, no! I always want boba tea when I am in Edinburgh, but forget that it isnt really a thing here. I had passed by Frisky’s a couple times, seeing a sign for Bubble Tea and finally stopped in. The place is cute on the inside, but it is blasting music so loud there is no way I could stay inside(does this make me an old person?). So, I ordered my boba to go. I was very happy that they have actually black tapioca pearls and not just the popping boba. The real downfall came when I tasted my drink. When you try a new boba place for the first time you hold your breath and just pray it is going to be a good one. Sadly, Frisky’s was WAYWAY too sweet for my taste.

One of my favourite places ever! I can’t even count how many times I’ve been to Frisky. They have a range of different toppings to get on your frozen yoghurt from blueberries and kiwi to brownies and coconut flakes. They have a selection of smoothies too which I’ve still not tried but I must! They have breakfasts too which sound quite nice. My frozen yoghurt usually comes to about £3.50 each time as I get 3 toppings most of the time. Frisky is one of ‘my places’ which I visit very often. The staff are ALWAYS so friendly! I LOVE Frisky!

Frozen yoghurt is a relatively new trend here in Edinburgh(and possibly the UK). Largely due to the fact that ice cream /frozen goods normally fit with a sunny summer. Most locals here have resigned themselves to the fact that the sun comes as and when it sees fit, on an average of 20% of the year; and so Frisky hasn’t quite fitted into the ‘summer’ slot; but as a result, often sees itself busy any time of the year, from December 23rd to August 11th. Im not an ice cream girl. I’m far more a coffee and cake lady. But I really, really, really wanted to try Frisky. A vision of frozen yoghurt layered with fruit, chocolate, fudge sauce. A take-away sundae, with the slightly saintly undertone of it being«healthier than ice cream». I don’t quite know how valid that is, but every little helps. So finally, I stopped by here one night after a very disappointing dinner that left me still wanting more. I opted for the plain yoghurt, with two toppings: strawberies and white chocolate chips, then the mango sauce. You can choose whatever combinatio you want, and there are a LOT of choices! I think the success of a delicious Frisky treat will be based on many repeat visits and trialing out what you like till you find your winning combo. In hindsight, I should have just indulged my inner chocoholic and gone for something like fudge sauce. The natural flavour is actually very, very bland. Not much taste at all. Whilst the chocolate flavour yoghurt was incredibly coco-y, even more so than ice cream. A generous portion that went down relatively easily, I’m glad I had the mango sauce to give the yoghurt flavour. It was sweet, and simple, and did the trick. And I will come back when I want some fro-yo on the go. Simple as that.
