We got the waffle and it basically tasted like a frozen waffle that was warmed up. It was also pretty small for its price. The plus was they give you a good amount of strawberries and Nutella on top.

Yup I was torn about giving this place 3 or 4 stars… Think it’s probably 3.75! Great concept, all the sweets & chocolates to choose from & mix with whatever ice-cream, waffle, pancake combination you desire! I’d actually walked past this place numerous times in the past few weeks and simply hadn’t spotted it — nothing eye catching about it and the interior felt more tacky then vintage. Now I’m fussy about ice-cream(living in Italy for 2years has turned my into a bit of an ice-cream snob) so I wouldn’t call this good ice-cream at all. However once blended into a shake with your favourite chocolatey treat — it did taste pretty good! If you’re feeling like having a bit of guilty chocolate /sweet junk food — then this is definitely the place to go!

Very friendly place and a very good selection of ice cream and sweet stuff like waffles. The only things that stopped me scoring this place a 5 star was they didn’t sell children’s juices(like fruit shoots and stuff along those lines) and it is a bit small. All in all a very good experience

Ugh, so torn on my star rating – my partner in crime chastises me for my propensity to four-star-review everything that I enjoy. But I can’t help that I like a lot of things and have very low standards! So it goes with Scoopz. Really, I’d give this place a pretty solid 3.5 stars, because… honestly. Ice cream! When I spotted this little joint after work one evening, I was powerless to stop my feet from prancing up to the till. They had me at «knickerbocker glory» and«espresso sundae.» The establishment itself is cute, but not exactly a fancy dining experience. I guess it feels a bit more cramped and less nice than some of the nicer ice cream joints in town, but if one expects a fancy dining experience when stepping into a joint called«Scoopz» then they might want to rethink things a bit. :) However, that’s not to say that Scoopz wasn’t clean and with some sitting room to speak of. Not only that, but I was suitably impressed by the wall of CANDY! YEAH!!! The ice cream itself is pretty good, but I could see this appealing more to families with children than with people with a nose for flavors. This is some SWEET stuff. I was particularly entranced by the unnaturally fluorescent rainbow of cream called«Millions» or something, which I’ll admit I wasn’t quite brave enough to sample(next time). As it was, my coworker and I traded out the normal vanilla for a scoop of toffee and a scoop of Kinder bueno ice cream in the espresso sundae, and neither of us were let down, at least until we got to the end: the remainder of the espresso was, without the ice cream, quite bitter and we left that untouched. Not only that, but we realized neither of us had actually tasted the Kinder portion. Quite possibly it all melted together, but still: we wanted at least a taste of it! Regardless, this is a nice little ice cream place if you’ve got a hankering for something sweet, and just so happen to be in the area around the Pear Tree. Perhaps not take-yer-girl-out-for-a-fancy-date material, but definitely a solid my-girl-is-mad-at-me-how-do-i-make-it-stop, sort of thing(maybe that only works on fatties like myself)!

50’s style diner serving ice cream and milkshakes. Lots of ice cream and toppings available but just didn’t wow me like Affogato. Open later than Affogato at the weekend, hence ended up here on a Sunday evening. I suspect there is more artificial stuff in the ice cream here than in some of the other places popping up in Edinburgh. It appears bought in and as for asking about special dietary requirements — good luck. The brunette server(I think was really embarrased by her blonde colleague after I asked the blonde about this), did make the effort to try and check the tubs of what I was asking about. The two ice creams I had were nice, but just nice and a week on, I am struggling to remember what I had. It was ok, but I can’t actually see myself going back here. Great concept, service meh.

It’s hot and we all love a few scoops of enticing and luscious ice cream. So I went to check out Scoopz. It’s quite a small place conveniently located in Old Town near the Peartree pub. The interior reminds me of a 50’s coffee place with red leather seats. I got a scoop of Banoffe. It tasted quite sweet. Yes Yes, all ice cream is sweet, but there is a differentiation of good and luscious tastes. This taste was good and I can recommend this place for ice cream. They have quite a good assortment to choose from and you get served cups and cones, whatever rocks your boat! They also do pancakes and milkshakes, so I will definitely be back! Prices vary, but are definitely affordable. Enjoy!

ice cream shops bring out my inner child! the sight of loads of flavours of ice cream and rainbow sprinkles and milkshakes and warm cookies to be sat under a scoop of ice just make me smile :) so i was especially pleased when i saw this shop had opened a few years ago just in time for the edinburgh fringe. the boyfriend and i made a few visits to treat my sweet tooth and pretend that a scottish summer was warm enough to walk around eating ice cream and sitting outside for. i made a visit this past sunday night when my sweet tooth was crying out for dessert and the sunshine was making me want something cold and sugary. i double checked the opening hours(which are awesome becaus they are open til 10pm!!) and off we went. i had a scoop of chocolate fudge brownie topped with rainbow sprinkles, it was heaven :) my first ice cream of the season! and one scoop is more then enough as it’s a massive scoop that i sort of feel is like two instead of one… just writing this review is already making me look forward to my next visit! this is definitely a great place with a decent sized shop to sit in but also the portability of ice cream cups or cones to take away. you can get milkshakes with all sort of combinations and also cakes or warm cookies topped with ice cream. there seems to be about a dozen flavours so there should be something for everyone. and it’s cheap! £1.70 for a scoop of ice cream and a topping.

Can’t believe I’ve just found this place! I love good ice cream(which has to be gluten free!) and this place definitely has it in abundance! Based on an American diner theme with fab booths to sit and enjoy one of their fabulous sundaes, smoothies, milkshakes or simply ice cream! There’s big tv’s n even iPads to use while gorging on ice cream! This was my first visit and I opted for Belgian chocolate(old fav of mine) and banana ice cream… Well I’m now a convert the banana was Amazing! So fresh with little pieces of frozen banana through it yummmm! The prices are good also with two generous scoops for £2.50 I was in ice cream heaven! A great but dangerous(for the hips!) find!

This place is great! Absolute sugar paradise. Love the fact you can get your favourite choc mashed up into a milkshake. Cool place to hang around in. They have massive TVs, ipads…

I am totally torn with this place. I love the idea. I mean who can’t an american ice cream dinner. Give me some stars and stripes and then I am totally on board! But in all serious-ness. I want to love it. But it might take a couple more visits. The interior is exactly what i wanted and expected. Big booths. Tiled floors. They also have ipads floating about for you to play with. It’s great! So they have a massive ice cream counter, pick any flavour, they make you a lovely thick milkshake with it. I played it safe and went with strawberry and it was lovely. They also do sundaes, coffees, pick n mix… and coke floats! Yes. COKEFLOATS!!! I know where I am headed when I am having one of those childish days! So I didn’t go up and order, but apparently service was meh. Oh, and be prepared for lots of screaming kids who have had too much sugar. Seriously… when will people learn?!
