Pitcher and Piano is a decent bar that manages to remain somewhat upmarket while also being reasonably priced. You won’t find £1 pint deals here but you will find 2 for 1 cocktails Monday — Friday. The outdoor terrace is a pleasure to site in when it’s hot(not so fun in winter) and the interior is pleasant, comfortable and spacious. If you’re after a standard fare midweek meal then you could do worse than go to P&P. I’ve not had a bad meal here yet but last week we visited and someone in our party ordered a pasta dish which amounted to approximately two mouthfuls. This was soon replaced though and the staff were very helpful.

Pitcher & Piano recently replaced Fat Cats which moved down the street. The interior has changed somewhat since it was Fat Cats in that all the books and old world decorations have been removed and replaced with something a lot more modern and simplistic. Because of the smoking ban, Pitcher & Piano have installed a rooftop outside bar area which is pretty trendy and modern, and has some pretty nice views of the surrounding area. The food itself however, is a little disappointing. I assume the food is standard due to the fact that Pitcher & Piano is a chain, however, the menu is pretty similar to that of Fat Cats. I was never a major fan of Fat Cats and it would seem they may have stolen Fat Cat’s chef just to keep him/her in the same building. Food is pretty bland or it’s not cooked properly. For a decent meal, I would go next door to Le Bistrot Pierre.
