Mackenzie’s is my number one stop for Brunch in Bristol. The ‘Big Breakfast’ which I split with my girlfriend is £8, making it the greatest bargain you’ll find amongst the cafes and restaurants that dot the Waterfront. I first went here before joining Unilocal, and knew I had to return and show my appreciation if I ever returned to Bristol. P. S. Obviously the Big Breakfast also *tastes great*, or I’d’ve been less excited and not dragging friends to the place on my later trip to Bristol. Their Mochas are good, though probably cost me about the same as my food!

Me and my man went here for lunch one sunny day and it was nice. They didnt have a MASSIVE selection of drinks but we found something we liked. I had a(unclassy) burger and he had a wrap. The burger was very tasty but the ‘french fries’ were like non i’d ever seen before they looked burnt but were not. They were potatoe skins fried so not actually a french fry typically… was a bit disapointed as i didnt like them but overall for £20 it was nice to sit by the water and have a nice lunch. Would go again but as there are so many places on the water front might try somewhere else next time.

Had a mediocre breakfast here one Sunday. I ordered Eggs Benedict on which there was average ham and a lot of hollandaise sauce that became a bit sickly after a while. Coffee was ok. I’ll keep walking next time.

This bar is located by the waterfront in the city center. I would say that they cater to the lunchtime business or tourist crowd, and also the Friday and Saturday night party people. The bar is a huge square block in the middle of the place, and I can imagine is extremely full on a weekend night. They have a massive array of alcoholic drinks, and also make freshly ground coffee for those who are coming here for lunchtime. There is outside seating as well as inside, which is great for when you want to soak up some sun by the riverside on a good day. The décor inside is quite alright, to me, it is abit too boring, plain and generally just different shades of brown, which I suppose works for those wanting to having social business meetings here. I met some friends here on a weekday evening, and it was completely quiet, with no one else in here except the four of us, which is a massive contrast to the crowds that come in for drunken nights out during the weekend. All in all, this place is alright. I find there is not much soul to it, but it serves its’ purpose well enough.

Its nicely located on the waterfront at the bottom of Park St and an ideal place to stop for drinks before heading to Arnolfini or the Watershed. Happy Hour is 5 – 8 everyday and all day on Wednesdays and Sundays. They do serve food but I’ve never tried it. Strong pours on the drinks, comfy seats, but it’s always sparsely populated. Its not the best place to go,(there are endless options in this area of Bristol) but its fairly nice and the bartenders are very friendly and really chatty. Be prepared for the stream of homeless people asking for money if you sit outside though– its happened at least twice every time I’ve gone there…
