Haven’t been here for ages then went to meet a friend on a Friday night. Had a few glasses of wine which were a great price… Should have got a bottle though but hey ho. Ordered one of the sandwiches which was humongous! Couldn’t finish it all but my boyfriend and our mate did and loved it. Was pretty quiet for a Friday night but for me that was good as got a table to sit at. Bar staff were friendly too. I do like this pub and always forget about it so will make more of an effort to go back

Had a great time at the Edinburgh! Great location near the train station and close to the centre. Very good prices for food and drinks. Had some delicious nachos and chips with blue cheese. The atmosphere is lovely since is quite intimate and friendly.

I had a lovely evening at the Eddy. Great location — out of the way enough to be quiet, but close enough to town to get the train or bus home. Really enjoyed the white wine we had, and the food was fab too. We had the natchos which were proper totilla chips not cheap out of the bag rubbish, so top points for that! Great guacamole too! Will be back for a pint or glass of wine(and probably some natchos!)

I live three minutes from here and I am ashamed to say that I’ve only ever popped in to get change for the launderette across the road. Whoops. But I spent this evening with some pals here and it was really great! Super relaxed, not too busy and loud, but still with a good atmosphere and a decent group of people. I’ve also walked by on weekends and it’s seemed very fun, lots of people, and good music. Also I got to pet a doggy, which is the mark of any good experience! Will definitely need to stop by more often!

Went to the Eddy tonight for the first time in well over five years, and it was lovely! Tucked away on Upper Gloucester Road, it’s conveniently located just around the corner from Brighton station. It’s fairly cosy but not too small, but has a lovely inviting feel. The staff were really friendly and chatty, something I always enjoy! The house wine was a steal at only £10.25, and it was really nice considering. Next up, the FOOD. I ordered a few small plates to share, some chips with blue cheese, onion rings and a plate of nachos. The nachos were brilliant! Home made, using actual tortillas rather than nachos that you get out of the bag. They went down well with all of the group. It’s not that close to where I live but I shall definitely be returning for drinks, and to try some of the rest of the menu!

My partner and I went for Mexican Mondays(Meal and a pint for £10) and it was an amazing meal! My partner had the nachos while I had a bean and mushroom enchilada, served with chips and salad. I refused the jalapeños and guacamole(not to my taste) but took the rest as it came; delicious! Spicy, tasty, fragrant, devious; not too hot(even for my delicate sensibilities) and very filling. You couldn’t get a better deal. My partner raved about the nachos(including jalapeños!) which feature home made nacho chips, and which also looked stunning. Add to this the friendly welcome, good drinks selection and convenient location, and I don’t think you could do better. This is highly recommended!

So much love for The Eddy. Always a great time, great drinks, great ambience! The landlord and staff are all amazingly friendly and welcoming. The music is also awesome, they really do vary it, so you can chill out to some smooth Bob Marley in the daytime sunshine, or something a bit more funky at night. I rarely feel comfortable in pubs(granted, I’m a bit of a bar snob), but I feel right at home in The Eddy. Would highly recommend!

My parents have been down for the weekend and i desperately needed to find somewhere on saturday to watch the Man City football match that was… parent friendly(!) –with chairs and a great view of the TV. Not always the easiest task! However the Eddy was the perfect choice. I called up and reserved a table– they were really helpful and gave us a large table right in front of the big TV-perfect. I was even picky and kept changing the time — they were very accomadating. When we got there, it was busy but not crowded– mixed group parents and kids, late 20s crowd, couple of groups of guys watching the football but it was a really relaxed crowd. Atmosphere was good for the match — animated but not rowdy at all. We didnt eat but the mexican natchos lots of people were eating looked great. They’ve done up the décor and theres lots to look at on the walls and theyve smartened it up a lot. They were playing good music and had the football commentary on too– perfect! The Eddy was a perfect choice for what we wanted and I think i’ll come back for more than just football next time.

The Eddy is a rowdy pub favoured by a young crowd. Plenty of students, and hordes of that Brightonian tribe: scruffy twenty/thrirty somethings who really ought to know better by now. On a busy Friday or Saturday night this place is a riot of playful, noisy drinking. They seem to sell a helluva lot of Tuaca(Brighton’s very own novelty spirit of choice) and Sambuca. There’s always seems to be a tray of sickly shots being poured at the bar. The foods perfectly alright and the beer is fine(although this is not a place for real ale afficiandos). The pub stretches back gloomily, there are lots of candles, and the Steptoe-esque décor is of the usual Brighton vintage. This is an old Zel pub. It’s a reasonable pub. And it’s popular but I’d quibble a bit and say it feels a bit grubby. That’s not to say it’s unclean or unhygienic… just that I think a spring clean wouldn’t go amiss. Call Kim and Aggie now!

This is a friendly, busy pub that’s round the corner from Brighton railway station. It’s got an average selection of beer and other such spirits. The only real down fall is that the table, back bench and chairs are at odds in length. The bench against the wall is too high, the chairs are too low and the table is somewhere in the middle, not really fitting in!
