I don’t drink coffee but the hot chocolate here is some of the best I’ve had, high quality, thick, rich and tastes as much as it’s worth. This place always had a queue when I visited and I know why.

Nice coffee nice staff food disappointing, limited range, boring, awful needs a complete revamp! Cmon someone whose running it, get real! You need someone onboard who knows something about food — yknow that stuff you put in your mouth, meant to enjoy. Doesn’t have to be complicated, just smart

One of my favourite places to have coffee, as I believe here it is as good as you can get! The place is lovely(I personally love the lighting) and there is a discrete selection of food and pastries which is never a bad thing! The only thing I probably dislike are the high, backrest-less chairs so I wouldn’t go there if I needed to work a whole afternoon in those chairs.

lovely place to set and watch people. big variety of brewed coffee, perfect for coffee lovers. limited options when it comes to sandwiches, yet they are all made fresh as the desserts. however, i didn’t like the fact that they don’t offer anything with low calories or not as greasy to be honest. i find it very rare to find light food for snacks, sandwiches, or breakfast and brunch here in Brighton, sad! it is crowded in the morning so if you’re in a rush keep that in mind. it is an experience to have if you’re in the area, do step in and be welcomed with a friendly staff member. one thing keep in mind, is that the toilet is a unisex area :-) i don’t know how i feel about taking a S*** while a cute guy/gal is in the next booth … especially after a good breakfast LMAO

The coffee from here is amazing. You literally cannot fault anything about the company’s product. It has no bitterness to it, it’s cooked perfectly and I have no idea what they’re doing to make it so smooth and just the right temperature but I cannot stop going there. I can’t afford to but it’s really, really hard to not go there. The one criticism I have is that the customer service can be pretty mediocre. You can end up waiting way longer than necessary for your coffee because the staff are all joking around with each other.

Small Batch has a very cute location and friendly staff. They make a fantastic flat white, however the Americano was the weakest I’ve ever had. It would be nice if they would branch out and offer some more food options.

This is a spacious, relaxed coffee shop with a delicious and pretty unique menu. The iced flat white, which blends espresso and coffee gelato, is a real treat, but the teas are also delicious and come in cute double-layered mugs. There’s plenty of seating, and drinks are served to your table if you sit in.

I absolutely love Small Batch Coffee, I really do. However, this is probably my least favourite branch in town, simply because it’s just SO busy! Which is a good testament to just how great the coffee is, but it’s really annoying when you can’t get a seat, and when you do get a seat it’s a good 10 minute wait for the coffee! At the same time though, the coffee is usually worth the wait. The staff are always pleasant and helpful, and like the other branches of Small Batch, are happy to answer any questions you may have about the coffee they have in stock and their brewing methods etc(Yes I’m THAT person!) If the Jubilee Street branch is too busy then I would strongly recommend trying one of their other shops in town, Western Road is a large spacious branch and the ones in Hove(my locals) are great too!)

As always, lovely coffee served well, warm and looks beautiful. As it’s always so busy, expect a little wait at some times and don’t expect too much of a sunny spot in their outdoor seating! Really love Small Batch coffee, forget the mainstream chains! PLEASE!

This is a great place for coffee, if you want to feel a bit more sophisticated. The interior is modern and comfortable looking and it’s very in a vibrant part of the city. You can sit outside on a sunny day or watch from inside. Either way it’s a great little hub to people watch. THESTAFFAREALSOGREAT. *******Funny random story COMINGUP****** Once in the summer a injured pigeon got stuck in my basement patio. I called a local bird rescue charity, they said if I could put it in box and bring it to them they will take care of it… I ran all the way to small batch because I knew they’d be helpful… Low and behold they gave me a box. THEREFORE, small batch staff saved the pigeon. Ok I lied a bit. I was too scared to get the pigeon in the box, so I called the RSPCA. The inspector came and saved the pigeon really… Or was it me? You decide! Either way… GOTOSMALLBATCH!

The best cup of coffee I had in Brighton, in the two or three times I’ve visited the lovely city. Flat white just how I like it, strong espresso, nice crema, and with delicious cakes to choose from to go on the side. They’ve got a lot of cakes(occasionally gluten-free options, like the friand I had), some sandwiches, toasties… no salads or soups, but you come here for the coffee really. Lots of tall, long benches for communal coffee drinking with your fellow caffeine addicts. Friendly staff. They were putting up a tree for Christmas whilst I was there and looked like they were having a lot of fun! It seems to be a hot spot in Brighton, as many people I met suggested we meet there. I believe they have quite a few branches in Brighton too(although they are independent) and roast their own beans locally too. What’s not to like?

Small Batch = Big Win. After surviving some truly terrible hotel coffee, I was seriously jonesing for some good stuff. Enter Small Batch, which more than did the trick. As I posted up here for several hours in meetings — I enjoyed a variety of items. Flat white, latte, Americano, Green tea. All exquisite, well crafted, and served with a smile. The loos are VERY clean and orderly, there is a lot of nice seating and the café is very stylish without being ridiculous. Comfortable and sleek. Woods and dark irons, smart folks behind the barrista bar and small sandwich and cake offerings. The vibe is mellow, to my knowledge there is no wifi — so people are truly coming for the coffee and conversation. I’m on board.

Awesome coffees! I usually go here to buy my beans for use at home, and they make great gifts also. The food seems a little over priced for the small portions, but it’s the drinks that you go to Small Batch for really, anyways.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It’s ok coffee and it’s a great place to people watch. I want to love an anti-Starbucks place like this. But I’m more irked at the staff. They seem to be more interested in playing the stereo at ear shattering levels and yapping to each other instead of the customer’s comfort. The tables are often dirty and cramped. I’ve just been watching one of the baristas chat without taking a breath for 5 minutes instead of making coffee, while I sit without. I’ve twice had to ask them to turn the stereo down because I couldn’t hear my friend who’s sitting across from me. I think if the hipsters stopped thinking about which tattoo they’re going to have done and maybe focused on what makes a pleasant coffee experience, we’d all be better off.

I like stopping here on the way to the library. Always a hip crowd mixed with older ones and families. Usually more than one foreign language being spoken outside(where the smokers sit). I don’t know how they do it, but the wait staff finds you when your coffee is ready. I have to exercise great restraint when I am there, as I would love to pocket a set of the cups and saucers(espresso size & cappuccino size)! Food is overpriced but convenient. I always keep the loyalty card on hand and save up for a free coffee!

As a Canadian coffee addict, I appreciate Small Batch for their ultra-strong, lovingly-brewed espresso. It’s a bright space with lots of seating, and the staff seem friendly and accepting as far as hipster coffee shops go.

The interior of Small Batch Coffee Company is so hipster it hurts. There’s dozens of vintage lights hanging from the ceiling, endless table and stools and a cool, wood-panelled wall that encourages you to drink more espressos, lattes and cappuccinos. For those that consider themselves coffee puritans, there’s also a syphon bar where you can watch staff pour, boil and brew coffee in magical, colour changing glass vials. Nestled besides it, is a display cabinet that’s packed with beautiful looking pastries, cookies, sandwiches, brownies and other lip-licking treats. I’ve tried and tested most of them but the reason I keep going back is simple: their perfect flat white. To paraphrase David Lynch, Small Batch serve DAMNFINECOFFEE.
