Staff very looking sad … Prices very high it is UK but it is 22.15 and the bar is empty I am not surprised … Many females and old ugly men. Bar staff miserable … I would be too may be to see so many old rest home people what hated gays when was young and now going and have not a woman and a short old smelling cock. Trying gays … Happy Brighton

Legends Hotel is a gay hotel and venue right on the seafront, in the heart of gay Brighton, just a minute from the pier.

What a friendly place to be in Brighton this is! I was down for a business trip, and found myself abandoned at 9pm by a client, so I felt it right that I go and explore the local scene! It was a brilliant and accommodating bar, full of welcoming people and two drag queens who where divas hot to trot! Drinks prices are very low, it’s packed 7 nights a week(so I’m assured by the locals!) and even better, it’s got a hotel above it if you can’t be bothered to get a taxi home!

I love Legends in Brighton, It has a prime spot which is right on the seafront in Brighton, I love its terrace on the front which has wonderful views of the pier and the seafront, All the staff are really friendly and the whole place is done out really well, Legends also has popular cabaret nights some nights and also has a lovely looking hotel! It always has a fun atmosphere and attracts a great crowd, This is my favourite gay bar in Brighton!

Hmm… as my first official Brighton Gay-bar experience, it was fairly good! Thomas A and I set out on the veranda, had a couple drinks and watched the surf. The people were quite friendly(though the bartenders tended to serve the male patrons before me, I noticed). The location is great, the inside I didn’t really get to see but looked… well, very gay. Will probably be back, seems like a crazy place!

I have had good nights in Legends bar and not so good nights. Yes the security staff are a little too sure of themselves but where aren’t they these days? On the plus side they are trying to keep the club ‘gay’ as there seems to be a watering down of the line between straight and gay pubs these days but with the recession it’s only to be expected. The drinks are London prices(which is understandable given it’s prime location) so if you want to get hammered i suggest the Bulldog in St James Street before going along and having a free dance in the basement club here, shame about the repetitive Lady Gaga, Kylie etc music. I have to say i utterly disagree about the drag entertainers that work here, they are all fab and the legendary Dave Lynn also pops up now and again. There’s even a touching tribute to a much missed local drag queen in the bar. Legends have also supported Pride which is more than some of the Brighton scene venues and it’s way more friendly than the Amsterdam down the road where you’re lucky if the bar staff even make eye contact when serving you, let alone a smile. A good mix of people, from 18 – 80, it’s clean and bright and although i wouldn’t want to go every weekend(probably my age) it’s still one of the essential ingedients in a good Brighton scene night out.

I would like to agree with the rest of th people who have written reviews. However the issue, I have with the place is the attidude of certain Staff. There is an issue that seems to effect me on this is the fact that they insist that if we use a the night club! We have to pay for the use of the clock room, doesn’t make sense. Surly we have the right to keep our jackects with us, So i ASKYOU legends whats the reason you are Charging us to put our bags and Jackects way! Darleck wishes to know Explain! Explainnnnnnnnnnnn!!!.

Very reasonable drinks prices and a nice view of the sea too! We also enjoyed seeing the Drag show. You don’t see many drag shows in Gay clubs in London. So was a real treat.

I came across this place with a friend on a random decision to go to a pub for a soft drink(unusual for us!) on an early monday evening. We walked in around 8 and the place was pretty empty! We sat by the window which had a great view of the seafront. The whole interior of this place is very flash indeed, with brightly coloured lights flashing around and contrasting white polls! It had loud pop and club music playing so I assume it gets busy later at night. It has a very upbeat atmosphere but it was suprisingly relaxing to sit by the window just drinking orange juice! There is a pleasant outdoor seating area which looks like it would be a relaxing place to come to in the afternoon. If you want to go somewhere you haven’t been before, check out Legends.

If you’re lucky enough to get past the extremely aggressive ‘door security’ as they’re jokingly called these days —(in this instance, Bouncers are far more apt), you’re in for a big disappointment. Drunk parties of youths, overpriced drinks, bad cabaret we’ve all seen and heard a million times, bright and extremely tacky décor(bring your sun glasses), it’s all there in it’s vulgar, full-on tasteless design. Downstairs in the basement, there’s a nightclub. The Basement Club, I think they call it. I once heard a punter leaving saying«It’s like Asda down there». If you’ve ever been to Asda in the Marina, you’d know what she was going on about! Another example of a once great gay venue taken over by the need for the sound of the cash register kerchinging in favour of a good, quality, gay venue. Sadly those days are a distant memory. Heil Wetherspoons!

Things are winding up on a Monday night, where to go? Legends! Not that it was completely heaving in there but for the minimal amount of people in there they certainly brought the party with them. The upstairs bar closes before the basement club but we were kindly directed to go and have fun downstairs. LCD screens of soft gay porn and some wayward hands on the dancefloor didn’t seem to deter my friends or I and we had a great time, I can only imagine the scene on a Saturday night.

Legends has fabulously flashy lights and fabulously flashy bar staff. The set up is very nice with lots of room upstairs and a dark and dancey basement which is open for club nights most days of the week. At the moment dancing is always free. Most nights are housey and poppy, and I can always seem to throw some shapes for at least a third of the tunes, which is pretty good going for me where house and pop are concerned. They have a great deck which is open for looking out to sea in the Summer and for quick cigarettes in the Winter, the view from here is one of the best in Brighton as far as bar decks go. This is also a hotel, which I can’t comment on because I haven’t stayed, but handy if you want to drink, dance then inevitably drop down, hopefully next to a catch.

I stayed here for two nights in early November and managed to bag an excellent rate just a few days beforehand via the hotels own website. On arrival, check in was prompt and the room was cozy but furnished in a modern way and way very adequate. Public areas were very well appointed and the bar downstairs was ideal for later in the evening when you could have a dance and a beer and then go upstairs to sleep! Breakfast each morning was a fully cooked affair and was very nicely presented and a good choice. In the morning, I found the check out to be very speedy too. The hotel is very well located, right opposite the sea and just minutes away from other bars in the area. Would I stay there again? For sure

One of the most modern Gay complexes combining Hotel, Cabaret Bar and Night Club plus Sea front Terrace set in the heart of the Gay Village. All rooms are ensuite and many have panoramic sea views. See
