Emma Plus

I actually enjoy shopping here: no mean feat as I dislike clothes shopping generally, and looking for plus size clothes only makes matters worse. It’s very refreshing to walk into a shop full of things I actually want to wear, with really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They suggest outfits which not only match my requirements but also suit my body shape and size, and are willing to offer sensible opinions (positive or negative) and advice.
Although the clothes are expensive, it’s certainly worth it for a special outfit. I first came here when shopping for my sister’s wedding, and found the perfect clothes in minutes — after wasted hours in just about every other plus size store. I’ve since returned for smart work clothes — again incredibly difficult to find in plus sizes, but once more Emma Plus had just what I was looking for.

Great shop for rubenesque gals who want stylish and well made clothes. Most of the high street shops catering for larger sizes just dont get it right — things either fit badly or are made cheaply and look it. The clothes in Emma Plus are not cheap — but are certainly worth the investment — as they last longer and look good for longer and boost confidence too. Designers stocked include my favourite — Anna Scholz — and this tardis of a shop stocks everything from seriously glorious evening wear to work wear staples to jeans and T shirts. Staff/​owners are friendly, welcoming and knowledgable. They provide a free alteration service for anything purchased, offer hot & cold drinks to customers and Pickle the jack russell puppy occasionally pops his head into the changing rooms to say hello.

We visited EMMA PLUS at our first Brittain-​Trip in May. The lovely store is off the beaten track in a small street. It was not easy to finde at the first time.
There is a big room and after little stairs you are at the cashpoint and comfortable suits.
The two salesladies are very nicely and helped a lot. We talked about the right sizes and how to look better and slender. The clothes are special and uncommon in every colour and a lot of sizes: I tried pieces of clothing from famous brands like Sallie Sahne, Anna Scholz and else.
And of couse I bought a lot :-)
Unforgettable also was the cute little dog. He is normally locked but we were very nosy so they opened the box.
Next time in Brighton I will visit the shop again!
