Another one of my favourite haunts when tripping through the Lanes, Lily Lv is home to all sorts of funky clothing and accessories, from skull-encrusted jumpers to neon-stitched winter coats, comic-print dresses to black and white checkered tops. I have never walked past this place and can almost never leave empty handed. Nothing’s too expensive, unlike a few of the boutiques in Brighton, so it’s always a justifiable purchase when spending money in here. With funky hats, shoes, socks, bags and leg warmers near the counter it’s difficult not to indulge in another little impulse buy when paying, and there’s always a massive sale on with even cheaper bargains to be had.

This is a lower mid-range bouique type place, selling mostly high fashion clothes. These aren’t high quality clothes, but if you want some cheap and generally slightly unusual items, then Lily LV might just fit the bill. Llike many similar shops in Brighton, there are a lot of dresses and tops, often more orientated towards ‘going out clothes’ than everyday wear. They also seem to have a permanent sale rail, and I often find myself in here just to check its contents. As well as clothes, they do have a fairly limited shoe range, but these always look a little too much on the cheap side for me. I’ll stick to the sparkly tops.

When I walked into Lily Lv, I was greeted immediately by a giant sales rack. A good sign. The styles ranged from night-out to casual, and were all very reasonably priced — even those not on the sale rack. Tops and dresses were in the £20 — £30 range; and the beautiful and snugly-looking winter coat that caught my eye was only £60. I was impressed by the unique designs and made a mental note to return here when I’m looking for a new outfit. Near the back, funky jewellery and hats were displayed — also reasonably priced. Lily Lv is a great little shop for those who like unique styles but are restricted to a budget.

This is one of your typical city centre fashion stores where you’re likely to find cheaper and slightly off season versions of the latest trends. For example, go there now and you’ll still find this summer’s floral body con dresses which have long disappeared from the Top Shop racks. They look cheaper and aren’t great quality, but Lily Lv is great for a bargain if you miss the boat on a trend and it’s all sold out elsewhere. Can’t say I have much reason to go here, but there’s a good range of stock, decent prices and a selection of teen pop playing most days — this shop is probably more for the aged 14 — 18 shoppers.
