Went here after reading some fellow Unilocalers reviews and kept seeing them checked in here! I love breakfast it’s my favourite meal. I thought Osetas breakfast was great especially the sourdough toast which I got seconds of. Me and my husband both went for the standard breakfast and everything was good quality and cooked well if a tad oily. I think the service was ok but could be a bit friendlier, like welcoming us when we arrived would be nice as it’s only a small place. Also they need to fix their door as it kept opening and banging closed so little bit annoying. I will have to come back for one of the toasted sourdough sandwiches for lunch sometime as they looked really nice. I did buy some pastries to take home for later but somehow lost them somewhere on my way home! Wanted to cry when I realised so I need to go back soon to try them! They have some nice bits for sale such as honey and biscuits.

I got a text from Tom C last Monday, telling me to come to Oseta’s ASAP because the food is AMAZING! After two visits, I can tell you he wasn’t wrong. Oseta is a small independent café in the North Laine area of Brighton. Oseta being the region where the owner come from. On my first visit I opted for ‘Oseta’s House’ — Scrambled egg mixed with halloumi, tomato, spinach and dill on a slice of sourdough toast. I would never have thought of combining those things together, but believe me they really work! Absolutely delicious, homely food. I went again today, and ended up having Oseta’s house again! This time I had a bit of ham mixed in with it, again it was delicious. The guy sitting next to me had a ham, egg and sausage sandwhich, which looked mouthwateringly delicious but I thought I would try it another day, the Oseta’s house dish is just TOO good! I also had a couple of small italian pastries with a flat white, which topped off my visit. I can see this becoming a regular haunt of mine. Very highly recommended! *Free Wifi

This is my new favourite place in town, I’ve been here three days in a row and each time have been blown away! This is a humble independent café selling decent coffee and excellent home cooked food. The owner Elina hails from the Oseta region of south Russia and has brought some of the local cooking knowledge with her to breezy Brighton, and you can tell. The food is exquisite, cooked to perfection and the menu is packed with inventive recipes. Specials change regularly and there is plenty of choice on the regular menu. I recommend the Oseta’s House, a delightful dish of scrambled egg with halloumi, tomato, and spinach… it really is to die for! Coffee is good(to this writer’s taste buds anyway, but I’m no coffee aficionado) and there are plenty of other choices on the drinks menu. Honestly, if you haven’t been here you need to get down immediately. Right now. Drop what you’re doing this instant. You won’t regret it.
