It’s a solid 4 stars for this place. The service itself worth 5! I went there solo and the waiter was really nice to me. By the way, thank you, all Italians, for providing us such good food in the UK!

Really good coffee and chocolate cheesecake; they have tables outside during summer, though inside looks really cozy; friendly staff; worth coming back

This place is fantastic! I’ve been here on several occasions for dinner and this place does pizza and pasta right. Owned by a lovely multicultural couple, the café has heart. It’s authentically Italian and the service is personal; the owners know their regulars’ meals and drinks of choice by heart and are extraordinarily friendly. The menu offers an extensive list of Italian wines, not to mention that grand old Italian favorite, limoncello! Wine during the meal, an espresso afterward, maybe a cheeky shot of limoncello… not to mention overhearing the employees speak in Italian to each other in the kitchen… it genuinely feels like Italy! I cannot rave enough about the ravioli in the mushroom sauce… it is without a doubt my favorite item on the menu, although the Bufala and the Capricciosa pizzas are fantastic as well. Not ideal for the waistline if you’ve got an appetite like mine, but how often do you stumble upon food this good anyway? When in Rome, as they say! Café All’Angolo has a great atmosphere, great service, great wine and great food. Always a fabulous dinner out!

I hope our trip in was just an off day but there is no way I can go above a 2 star review for this place. We went in for an evening meal and were greater and seated by a couple of lovely staff. Menus look interesting and lots of choice. It was hard to differentiate the vegetarian options from the carnivorous options. Emma asked for advice and the staff were very helpful. They may however want to look at the subject of their conversations in front of patrons. Now here comes the bad points. It was the best part of 30c outside the drinks we were served were without ice.(It is like an over and you need ice). My biggest bug was with my food. I was offered the special of a seafood pizza which sounded great so I thought I would order it. When it arrived I was a little irritated to see they had just dotted a few unshelled prawns, a few mussels and a couple of other shel fish over the too(still in shells) when I finally removed the shells there was barely anything on the pizza. My next issue was it was unsliced. Served on a plate that could barely hold it with a knife that could barely cut the pizza. Once cut I discovered the pizza was over-cooked. The base was burnt on the underside and the seafood over cooked and rubbery. Emma’s pasta seemed nice although she felt it tasted like a very good tinned sauce. My final shock was with the bill seeing the pizza I had ordered was significantly more expensive than the counterparts on the menu. To round up the staff seemed nice. But all other relents have massive room for improvement.

Every now and then during my travels, I stumble upon places that I find myself missing once I’m home. Time Out does it right. Run by husband and wife team, this small but cozy corner café serves up breakfast in a class that exceeds it’s modest appearance. Eggs Benedict is how I gauge a breakfast café because if they can pull of the hollandaise AND smoke the salmon properly, I know I have a winner. Theirs was perfection! And offering fresh squeezed orange juice over the carton stuff shows they pay attention to detail. They serve breakfast all day which is hard to find in Brighton. Believe me, when my boyfriend and I rolled out of bed at 11am we tried! This spot does it. Over breakfast I even overheard the husband/wife owners sitting a few tables down discussing options to enhance the menu. It gave me the warm and fuzzies — you can tell this business is their passion. To top it off they’re affordable and have service. Amazing across the board.

It looks like from the old Time Out Café page, they’ve had a major revamp. Our hostel didn’t serve any vegan options for breakfast so we had to venture out somewhere else; we were going to just go to a Wetherspoons until we found Time Out and decided to give it a try. The breakfasts are a bit more expensive, but so so worth it! Everyone loved their breakfasts, and they graciously switched out things we didn’t want in their set menus for our own preferences. Even at 10am they were selling their lunch specials so one of us had a stew which she said was great. The women working there were really friendly and attentive. I have no clue what most of the lunch menu is like but I’m happy to recommend Time Out Café to anyone going to/already in Brighton
