Food is frozen then fried. Everything in one fryer it seems. Staff I friendly, prices cheap. Overall though perhaps you get what you pay for.

Definitely not the best greasy spoon I’ve been to, but it does get the job done. The filter coffee had a little bit of that stale flavor you get when it’s been sitting out for a few hours. The food isn’t the greatest either. I used to work at a restaurant that served something that was labeled as «sausages», but was really just a mish mash of animal parts. The sausages I had here reminded me of those sausages. Not to say that they weren’t tasty, they were, it’s just that the ingredients aren’t really what you think they are. All in all, it’s not a bad place to go if you’re looking for a quick meal, and just want a little peace and quiet.

This is a very mediocre café that really makes me wish I could give half stars, as three seems too generous while 2 a little harsh… Not really carrying a «vibe» that makes it stand out, The Izzy’s saving grace is the late closing time of 12PM, making it one of the only café type places you can go from dinner time onwards. They do a great little cheese burger that ain’t half bad and dose the job of satisfying a late night craving without being too immense to make you feel like an outrageous fatty the next day. And at £1 you won’t be regretting the price the next day either.

It’s nothing special, but I like Izzys. The staff are friendly, and the breakfasts at least are just what I want from a place like this — not the most expensive ingredients, but sometimes I quite like that. Sometimes, you just want a bit of soft white bread and a processed sausage, rather than granary and handmade butchers sausages. I went through a stage of coming in here quite often for a hangover cure sausage and egg sandwich.

Greasy spoon-type café’s aren’t my favourite place for a meal, but they do have the food I tend to crave during a hangover. There’s something about the atmosphere and, well, grease that just sops up that hungover feeling. I was only in Izzy’s for a coffee yesterday — not in the right mood, perhaps. It was just regular drip coffee for £1.30, and my guess is that it had been sitting on the warmer for several hours. Kinda gross. About halfway through my cup, the kitchen staff took a cigarette break. More guessing: they stood in the doorway instead of actually moving outside. So, it got quite smoky, and I left without finishing. Again, perhaps I wasn’t in the right mood. I wouldn’t write this café off entirely, but won’t be back for an afternoon coffee and homework session anytime soon.
