Centrally located and easy to find, this is a pub with bags of character and charm. Dont pass it by for one of the perhaps more obvious choices on this street. OK, its not the biggest of pubs but evertything you might want from a pub is there. Theres a great pub garden/​courtyard to lounge around in in the summer with a pint, and lots of cosy areas inside to warm yourself in during the winter months. Ive only been in here a few times admittedly but on every occasion ive been met with a smile and a personal welcome — the staff appear very friendly and you soon end up feeling like a local, even if youre only in the area for a few days! They had a really good choice of real ales and lagers when i was there, as well as a pretty good choice of wines and whiskies too. You cant really fault that! They werent serving food when i was there, but ive heard from other peoiple that snacks and main meals are good (decent portions and tasty) and very reasonable priced. There were drinks promotions when i was there, too. A great choice if youre passing by — do give them your custom!
