The Holte Pub

As someone who used to work at Villa Park, there was no sadder site than the Holte pub which backed onto it. What was once a great Victorian institution lay empty, neglected and in desperate need of investment. Could I make the metaphor any more obvious?
Thankfully, as Aston Villa was rescued by a new owner, the Holte also benefited by getting a much needed make-​over. However, it’s truly gorgeous exterior makes things a bit hard to live up to. The place is pretty modern inside and the look they’ve gone for is quite high spec. This seems like a bit of a missed opportunity, but then again I can only imagine the total desolation that confronted the renovators as this place had been lying empty for decades.
The lager was fine, selling the brands you’d expect from a North Birmingham boozer. The garden is pretty big also. It’s good for smokers and overlooks the car parks and entrances of Villa Park. This is pretty much a pub for hardcore Villa fans then, and a pretty good one too.

The Holte pub is the choice for Villa fans to enjoy a few pints before a match.
The pub has recently been refurbished and the original and unique characteristics have been maintained.
Although the appearance of the pub has improved, it’s definitely a lads pub and not one for the ladies looking to enjoy a bottle of vino.
As it’s a pub, you don’t need to worry about dress code which another added benefit. They also provide a typical pub food menu so should you get peckish there will something to keep you going.

The Holte Pub is right next to the Aston Villa Ground and is a great place to have a pint before the game gets underway. The atmosphere is great and it is a place where there is plenty of banter between both sets of supporters.
I have also been here for a couple of functions I have attended and the rooms in here are pretty stylish I have to say. Not surprisingly the rooms feature the Aston Villa colours.
If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or even a retirement, The Holte could be a venue you might want to look at. There are three different suites here that can accommodate for up to 70 guests. This place is also ideal if you are planning on holding small meetings.
The staff who work here are first class and the food is lovely as well. I will be coming back here that’s for sure.
