The White Swan is an old fashioned pub situated on Bradford Street in Digbeth. The front bar is mainly frequented by the more mature punter but the back bar is great if you want a bit of privacy or if a group of you want your own space to chat or to enjoy sport on the tv. The bar staff are friendly and helpful and I regularly hold band meetings in the back bar as it’s not too far from the studio(Muthers) and it’s not too rowdy or noisy. It’s definitely a no frills place but the building is lovely and the back room makes it great for groups. Not somewhere for fellas to take a lady on a date though ;)

I ended up in here completely by random. I was over an hour early for a meeting nearby so I decided to pop in for a drink and a bite to eat. As I was on my own, I felt a bit strange walking in but the handful of people who were already in there were really sweet. The lady behind the bar made me feel at home and instantly started chatting away to me. Although I wasn’t in there for long and only ate a cheese sandwich and a packet of crisps, it was a really memorable experience as it was like a ‘home from home’ feel. This is purely down to the friendly people and characteristic surroundings. The pub is pretty out the way on the back streets of Digbeth but it’s definitely worth popping in for a drink if you’re in that neck of the neighbourhood and passing by.

very cozy & quiet typical English pub. Pretty quiet inside which makes it better to chat with who you are with but a bit awkward if you get too loud. Great place to sit back & do some reading I would say, too.
