Reasonable sandwich bar. There are a few seats should you wish to sit in, half of which are the bar stool type along a counter at the window. The sandwiches are good in both variety and quality and are reasonably priced across the menu. It just looses appeal as the staff could do with being a little more polite and friendly when dealing with customers. A few pleases and thank yous would go a long way.

Yay… Cecil’s gets a vote from me. A place that seemingly never shuts, I’ve been there for breakfast coffee, lunchtime sarnies and even for after pub chips. Each time the food and service has been spot on and I especially like the way they’ve made a bit of an effort with the décor. This is not your usual ‘wipe clean’ caff as it has a nice bit of mood lighting on the go, some swanky floral wallpaper and a few cool window stools for you to rest your weary legs. The staff are friendly as well and the prices are about equivalent to what you’d find in most places around here. Pros: Nice vibe, central location. Cons: Nothing too earth shattering on the menu.

i know they open at night nourishing the revelers drunkenly staggering up looking for a burger but they also do lunchtime fodder. I have had a few sandwiches at lunchtime and enjoyed them just as I should. I have also had the soup and sandwich deal at lunchtime and been happy. I can’t say anything bad about this place apart from the queues at lunch time. The food was grand — neither glorious nor gross. I am happy to nip in for a sarnie and pay a normal price with the usual standard fillings now and again. I have had a middle of the night burger and it was beautiful. For me cecils is all good.

Cecil’s is fairly new in Belfast. I think it might only be a couple of months old to be honest. I called one day to grab some lunch to go, and I wasn’t overly impressed to be honest. First of all, it didn’t feel cosy. In fact, it felt like they hadn’t finished decorating the place. I didn’t really have time to wait for a sandwich to be made up, so I just ordered a hot dog, and while it was nice, I was pretty horrified that none of the staff seemed to be wearing gloves or washing in between customers. Now, to be fair, the queue was out the door, so maybe I’m missing something. I wouldn’t be against going back to try a panini or something more substantial, but I also might go somewhere with protective hand gear!

A great sandwich bar offering take away sandwiches(amongst other things) at a good price until the small hours of the morning! Its open 9pm until 3am Friday and Saturday and as its located right beside the Northern Whig and a stones throw from Mc Crackens its pretty busy at throw out time! The curry chips are really good, especially after afew and you can sit in as well as take away! Average enough for a greasy spoon in the wee hours of the morning but it does the job!
