Great wee place in the city centre for lunch at reasonable prices Lots of choice and diets catered for and they do exceptionally good salads! This place is really popular with people often queuing to the door, but don’t worry it usually doesn’t take long to get a seat(there are two seated areas just around the corner from each other) Would recommend to anyone who want a tasty lunch and a good choice of variety!

First time I have eaten here and now I know what people were talking about. The must be the best sandwich place I have ever been too. We arrived and queue was at the door and everyone was waiting in a seat, usually this would put me off I hate packed places it alway makes me feel suffocated. We were however seated pretty quickly staff were extremely friendly and food arrived in no time at all. I had the harrisa chicken and goats cheese panini and my daughter had the ham and turkey panini both which came with a small side salad and nachos with a sweet chilli sauce. I really recommend this place even if there’s a queue it’s worth the wait. They do also have a takeaway.

Best sandwiches in Belfast period. Everything on the menu is amazing. Cannot recommend it more. Staff are always very welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere is great. An all round great eating experience.

I don’t get this place. My girlfriend and seemingly many many other people absolutely love it. It’s the like boojum of sandwich shops; people queuing in the rain to get in! The foods decent, nothing special and when you do finally get a table, you’ll be crammed in beside another table. The constant queue of people, either waiting for a table or ordering a takeaway is right beside the tables so it feels like people are leering over you whilst you eat. Also, the door is never closed so on a cold, windy day you’ll feel it. Also, it’s pretty expensive for what it is.

The most amazing sandwiches and salads around. I always go for the jerk chicken Greek chicken salad, it is gorgeous, fresh and excellent value for money. Also the open prawn sandwich is to die for I love their home made green pesto which accompanies the dish. Good coffee too and smack in the centre of town so always close after a Primark haul. Friendly staff and great fresh food, no wonder the place is always full. Always bunged for takeaways and sit in around 11.30−2. But tables always move quickly.

MYFAVOURITEPLACETOEATINBELFAST!!! No comparison, the best sandwiches and Salads in Belfast, if there were a Sandwich off they would win, and if they lost I would wreck the place. Thankfully I don’t work in the city centre or I would be eating in here everyday and getting very fat. Their sweet chilli sauce can not be r placated, it’s addictive. Always busy, and sometimes a queue out the door, it must have got so bad they opened another shop, around the corner! It’s always busy too, but thankfully the queues aren’t as bad. The staff are grand, they’re efficient and will get the job done as quickly as they can. I REPEAT… I LOVETHISPLACE

The food is delicious as the queue suggests. And that same queue is there everyday. Therefore you can expect the best sandwich in Belfast with a bit of a wait. But it’s worth it.

It was nice, don’t get me wrong but the hype exasperated me which led to the meal not fulfilling my desire. I would recommend but don’t go expecting some golden lettuce and truffle infused cheese. Food-on

Simply the best sandwich bar in Belfast. Can’t recommend it enough. Be prepared to wait for a seat. Especially around lunch time. Watch out for the second premises around the corner they open up when it gets really crazy.

Lovely sambo bar with some sit-in specials at reasonable prices. Hot or cold food(the jerk chicken salad is fab), you’re in for a win at West. A nic surprise after a late Aer Lingus flight in – and starving. I’d wish they were: — open for breakfast — open later And do, just do, get the tea. It’s terrifically good value. And good tea.

Nicest coffee ever! Also, the paninis are delicious — with generous portions that aren’t too big or small. Very friendly staff. Fav place to eat in town

West is best, they say(don’t they??) and I believe this little café to be the reason behind that statement. If you go in at lunchtime you’re in for a wait, both for take away or for seats so get there by half 12 or you’ll be standing there for up to 15 minutes looking enviously as people tuck into their delicious sandwiches all round you. If you do arrive and can’t get a seat, you can always busy yourself watching the fellas who construct the sandwiches. They are like ninjas, furiously piling all the ingredients together and then rolling the wraps ever so tightly and compressing the sandwiches to the optimum levels. And the finished product does not disappoint — with a massive range of fillings that are inventive and a little bit different from the norm. And super fresh — if you get chicken, it’s sliced from the breast right in front of you, no processed stuff here!

West is a brilliant wee café tucked away from the main hustle and bustle but still close enough to be absolutely packed out at lunchtime! This really is a credit to the quality of food, service and staff in here. They are super friendly and you feel like a regular customer, even on your first visit! They offer all the usuals, fantastic breakfasts, delicious sandwiches, wraps, paninis and crunchy salads! The food is always above and beyond and its pretty cheap to, which in my books makes for a great café! I will say that although it’s a great place for lunch, I would perhaps advise going just before or just after the lunch rush, because, it is just that! A mad rush! However this doesn’t phase the staff one little bit! If you miss this place out, you’ll be missing out on a new favourite!

Excellent little coffee shop in the city centre. It’s an ideal spot for a cup of coffee on the way to work, reading over one of their free papers as you get ready for your day. It’s a little gem of a coffee shop with good coffee and a free top-up. You’ll find it hard not to have breakfast here as well when you get the beautiful waft of sizzling bacon in this busy coffee shop, which is nicely laid out with its comfortable booths. As for lunch, this really is a gourmet sandwich shop and they come up with all sorts of delicious combinations for sandwiches and wraps here. I think the two guys who own it(absolute gentlemen) are actually chefs and not just two guys who decided they could make a few quid by throwing a few rounds of bread together. Everything is so fresh, too, which you’ll see for yourself because when you’re here in the morning you see them cutting up all the fresh produce and preparing the ingredients for the day ahead. Add to that the fact that the staff are so friendly and attentive — they end up on a first name basis with most of the customers who come in. Nothing’s any trouble for them and they always have time for pleasantries in the morning and a bit of conversation. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent coffee — this is a great place to make a part of your daily routine.

West is a tiny, tiny sandwich shop in the centre of Belfast. It’s always busy and seems to constantly be doing a fair trade, but I’m not sure why. The food is ok, but it’s only just sandwich. I think the reasons for it is that there’s no real quick food places on the same road. So they manage to fill the gap. The food is cheap which is also a bonus, but it’s nothing special and I wouldn’t rush out of my home to get a chicken tikka sandwich filled served from an ice cream scoop. There are a lot of places just 5minutes walk away from the West that serve a better standard of food for the same price, so it all depends on how lazy you are!

Café West turned out to be the young trainee journalists haunt on a Friday between classes. Politics in the morning followed by a filling, heart warming breakfast at café West. This place does an array of breakfast treats along with an extensive sandwich range all made fresh on the day. My usual on a Friday was a small fry. One piece of the usual suspect for a very reasonable £3.50. The bacon is always crisp and meaty, the black pudding I think comes from the Clonakilty factory in Co. Cork and is superbly textured, meaty and full of iron. The service had always been speedy and very friendly, they are always more than helpful if need a refill or an additional piece of toast. I’ve probably been here 10 – 15 times and have yet to be let down. If you are looking for a solid, tasty breakfast in the city you cannot go wrong with West.

West is a tiny little sandwich shop just off the main shopping street of Belfast. It is a great place to go if you are looking a quick bite at lunch time or a coffee break when you are shopping. When I worked in town I used to frequent this place a lot with my girlfriend, and we would order some massive sandwiches and just delay the inevitable walk back to work for as long as possible. The staff are very quick and efficient, I assume because people don’t want to be waiting long on their lunch break. It is always very busy around this time as well, which although confirms it as a great place to eat, unfortunately can make it a little bit frustrating at times. This is another one of those places in town where I suggest you try to miss the lunch rush if you really just want to sit and enjoy your meal.
