The stars are based on the service. The waitress was nice, when we could find her. It took some 15 minutes for her to take our order. She brought our lattes somewhat fast but the food was nowhere to be seen. The food ended up being take away. Not cool! We were there for 45 minutes, we should have been able to sit and eat without rushing. The coffee was good, though. If you aren’t on a schedule, go ahead!

Great sunday breakfast and tea and scones. One of the best fry ups I have had. Nice setting as well. Service good. Will definently go back when in Bath

I was amazed to read the last comment as I have been visiting this café for the past 8 years & have not once been disappointed. As far as I know, the same lady has been the chef for just about all of that time & the food which is served excellent. The Bath Rarebit is really tasty & is a personal favourite of mine. Baguettes fresh with different fillings & cakes which are very tempting. I have just remembered the lady’s name Kirstie. The staff all seem friendly & are eager to help suggest items from the varied menu.

My daughter took me here for a birthday treat afternoon tea. Whilst the courtyard setting is lovely and the tea was nice enough(scones and cream tasty, jam a little gloopy and tea with a couple of tea bags in the pot), the service was perfunctory(no smile, no chatter, no ‘thanks for coming’, etc.). Shame, really, as I’ve been here before a couple of times for coffee and hot chocolate with friends and children and the service has been excellent.
