Dukes Hotel is a great place to stay when visiting Bath. Located on Great Pulteney Street it is only a short walk to the attractions in the city centre. We booked a standard double room which was priced at £95 for one night with breakfast included. The room and its en suite bathroom were both clean and comfortable. The staff at the Hotel are really friendly and always keen to hear about your experiences in the city so that they can help out their future guests. I will happily recommend Dukes Hotel to any prospective visitor to Bath.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The Olympic relay torch was on the street of the hotel at the time so there was no parking. The Manager Michael went out of his way and drove around to find us a spot to park in. All of the managers here were awesome. Thank you guys for a pleasant stay. It was much appreciated.

The only bad thing we could say about this hotel is that the bathroom was very tired. Parking in Bath, like any historic city in the country, is not easy, but The Dukes have thought of that, as they supply parking permits for the local streets, making parking painless. The décor of the building is lovely, and very historic, which I’m sure won’t disappoint visiting Americans. The hotel rooms are very tastefully decorated with incredibly comfortable beds. There is a small restaurant and bar downstairs, which provide excellent food and drink, including local beers. Breakfast is superb, served by the no nonsense French matredee. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. One comment about Bath is that they desperately need some street cleaners, as the roads were a real mess, surprising for a city which relies so heavily on tourism as an industry. That of course isn’t a reflection on The Dukes, which sits on the grandest street of the city. One note. Due to the age of the building, there are no lifts, so pack light to avoid having to carry heavy bags up many flights of stairs. A wonderful place to stay, in a lovely city.

Only tried the Restraurant which is called the Cavendish — this is fine dining at an affordable price. The set Lunch at c. £15 has plenty of variety and is excellent. Highly recommended.
