This place seems to be famous for its wine, cheese and bread, but I didn’t get a chance to try. Tried some breakfast pastries and coffee, they were lovely. Staff were nice and the shop has a great relaxing ambience for sitting in.

Stopped for coffee having arrived in Bath before the shops opened. Good coffee, helpful staff and my daughter highly recommends the chocolate muffin.

My vegetarian friend use to come to this place all the time, principally because it was the only place where you could get this vege slicing sausage that was absolutely gorgeous in sandwiches of all kinds. In fact, you’re sure to find some rare delicacy in this tiny shop on George Street right opposite the Moles club. Many’s the time, while with my friend, that I’ve been tempted to try some little thing that I saw while browsing. It’s very expensive here, I do warn you, but for a one-off treat every now and then, this place can’t be beaten.

From the first time I’d tasted Orchard Pig cider I was hooked. Sweet, crisp and cold — it was the perfect beverage on a boiling hot day. But sadly, I couldn’t find it in a shop anywhere. Even the restaurant where I tried it for the first time didn’t have a clue where to buy it?! I was just about ready to leave it as a beautiful memory, the stuff of legends, when I walked past Chandos Deli’s window. Bingo! Found it. As well as serving local speciality beers and ciders, they also stock mouth watering local food produce including meats and cheeses. They also have equally delicious imported goods like oils, dressings and olives. The prices are reasonable for a quality, but if you’re looking for a bargain you won’t find one here. Chandos Deli is a must-go-to before any party or picnic.

If you’re English and have money, come on in. If you’re a tourist and have money after your exchange rate, come on in. The selection of items here are yummy, although what I have had has been limited. I had a friend who worked here and was able to sample things once in awhile. Wines, cheeses, coffee, fish, olives, and the like are here. Take things home or dine in. Just keep in mind, Chandos ain’t cheap. If the wavering economy is real, apparently no one inside Chandos has heard. I believe the deli began in Bristol then expanded to nearby areas, and it seems to retain a constant clientele despite it’s priciness. I was a student when I lived in the southwest, so obviously I didn’t shop here often. I did, however, have a chance to try some coffee on my own, which I really enjoyed. Also, my friend would cook with various items he brought home from the store. Nothing he brought back ever disappointed, especially since I wasn’t paying. From what I understand, they sometimes have tastings and other special events, activities I never got a chance to try but wish I had. If you’re passing by, go ahead and splurge. Get some coffee and a couple of small eats, then drown your sorrows about the bill with a glass of wine. If you’re really daring, get one of the meals– I *think* they have a café you can sit down in. Otherwise, get it to go and sit in one of the nearby parks. The ingredients they use and tastefully weave together justify the price You’re in Bath surrounded by Georgian architecture and centuries of history– live a little. +4 stars for the quality and creativeness of the food +1 for the location –1 for its sometimes inaccessible prices
