Typically, if I’m ever to meet someone in Bath, this is the place where it happens. To me, it’s a staple of Bath life, somewhere that everyone who visits the city should visit at least once. As already mentioned, the food is veggie, but if you’re strictly carnivorous then don’t let it put you off, it really is quite tasty. The drinks aren’t cheap, but they’re not extortionate and it doesn’t seem to put anyone off the place. In the basement you’ll find regular music and comedy nights throughout the week. Every other Thursday, it plays host to the intriguingly titled Pepper Your Leopard nights, which are always worth a look for some of the best quality live music in the city.

Whenever I suggest a place to take my friends for lunch they always ask, with a disappointed look in their eyes, ‘it’s not a *gulp* vegetarian restaurant, is it?’ Try as I might I’ve found it impossible to convert them to the joys of a meat free existence. That was until I took them to The Porter.
The Porter is the sort of place every veggie dreams of; hearty, inventive dishes served with a cold pint of local cider. My particular favourite at The Porter is their Sunday roasts, which seem to be the ideal cure for a hangover.
The staff are not only young and trendy (and incidentally good looking!) but also friendly, fun and attentive. A great place for veggies and meat eaters alike.

THey have a great selection of food and a very large vegetarian menu, the customer service is great here. They have a large selection of drinks and has a very friendly atmosphere, always wecoming and warm. Highly reccomended to the older ones in bath, not for younger children but still a very nice place.

The Porter is a vegetarian pub in the centre of Bath at the top of Milson Street (not to be confused with The Porter Butt on London Road!!!) It’s a laid back atmosphere, with tables outside for the summer days. The top floor is divided into two halfs with the bar at the top and stairs dowstairs in the middle. There are plenty of booths and small tables and stools upstairs and a pool table downstairs. They sometimes have live music. The menu is totally vegetarian and there is plenty of choice from nachos to lasagne to toasties. My personal favourite are the cheesy chips with beans, hearty portions and reasonable prices too!

This is a fine pub. It has a good vegetarian menu which even my boyfriend who things veggies should be consigned to the loony bin enjoyed. He had veggie Shepherds pie with chips. He also enjoyed the Guinness. It’s a cosy pub best enjoyed when it’s raining outside and the windows are steaming up. It also has a downstairs area for music. The pub also shows football. One of Baths best pubs.

The Porter is a pub and vegetarian restaurant, its next door to the Moles Club and is a good place to have a drink before watching a gig at Moles.
The Porter’s vegetarian meals are very healthy and whole food-​ish. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.
