Amazing food, variety of choice and absolutely value for money Very kind gentleman that is ready to have a casual chat and recommending food to suit whatever you need Great highlight for the journey in Bath!

It’s just over the Pulteney Bridge into Bath, kind of around the corner from the Guildhall. It was one of the first places I wandered by, and I’m very glad I stopped. I got what they listed as a «meal in a bowl with crusty bread.» It was outstanding. The woman who seemed in charge(and doing a bit of everything) called it a Moroccan bowl – it had pork, some veggies, beans, cumin, and other stuff that I couldn’t identify. Simply delicious, very fresh. Service was super quick, and friendly.

Having spent a a half day running around buying various items in preparation for the Thermae Bath Spa visit we stumbled across Blue Quail. The Café isn’t very big 4 small tables and a few stools against a wall. The interior was nice and pleasant place to dine in for lunch. Luckily they didn’t have a 7 page menu with all the variations that could be hastily piled onto a plate. There 3 boards with a selection of sandwiches, soups, pies and some hot food. I chose a chicken and leek pie with salad and my partner chose a soup. The food arrived promptly and was very well flavoured and proportioned. The salad was diverse in its offering from the curried Apple to the carrots covered with sesame seeds. The pie was hot and served with a pot of red wine Jus. The visit would have been perfect had it not been for inquisitive and annoying little flies! Unfortunately the café didn’t have a visible blue light for the flies! Having to stop conversation or stuffing my face full of food to swat flies is incredibly annoying! Should be an easy fix for the owners!

By far and away the BEST café/deli in Bath. The food is fantastic, always fresh and exciting. Flavoursome, different and filling.

This place is an amazing find. We came in for a very late lunch, and truly could not have had a better experience. The man behind the counter, who I can only assume was the owner, was incredibly gracious and lovely. He explained everything in detail, and pointed out all of the delightful treats on offer. They had a huge variety of soups and sandwiches, and some really cool quiches and and hot dishes with flavors from around the world. We all got tea, which was brought out with a «tea timer,» a little device with three hourglasses so you could choose your steeping time — weak, medium, or strong. Brilliant! And they serve loose tea, which is always a plus. I got the«meal in a bowl» which was described as a minestrone, but in truth was more like a bolognese soup. It had absolutely gorgeous flavor, rich and meaty, with fresh vegetables, pasta, and a serving of rocket and parmesan cheese on top. It was hearty, comforting, and above all tasted utterly homemade. You know how you can just tell when something is made in-house? This literally tasted like something you’d eat at the house of a great home cook. It was unpretentious and homey, and utterly wonderful. My parents loved their spicy tomato and chorizo soup, and my fiancé devoured his South African Bobotie, which is sort of a meaty-eggy-chutney dish of curried loveliness. His came with an assortment of colorful fresh salads, and ours came with some of the best ciabatta I’ve ever had. This place is an absolute gem. It is small, so not a lot of seating, but it wasn’t busy when we came in late afternoon. But know that if it is busy, it is worth the wait. You’ll have an absolutely terrific lunch served by friendly people.

Thank you Trip Advisor! We stopped in based on TA reviews and are very grateful! Our meal was fabulous — so many daily specials to choose from and all were interesting and, based on the two we selected, delicious! Dishes served with a variety of salads — each a gourmet combination in its own right. And we had the carrot cake as well — fabulous! Did not disappoint. Can’t recommend it enough!

This is a tiny deli crossed with a tea room run by a couple as their retirement project. Delightful, friendly atmosphere coupled with some of the very best bacon and sausage rolls I have ever had. Simple honest, top quality ingredients, cooked by someone who loves what they do. My only concern would be that seating just 15 – 18 people at a time means once this little gem gets out, it will be impossible to get a table. The menus are on the walls, all around you, which is a bit weird when ‘mom’ arrives at the table and asks what you would like ‘pop’ to make you for breakfast. I didn’t even realise full-English was an option until after ordering. Never mind, something to look forward to when I return… hopefully soon!
