This Coffee Club used to be our regular(we go out for breakfast every Saturday morning). We used to enjoy the salmon and avocado stack, however on the last three occasions our meals have been peppered to the point that it is inedible. We have advised staff on all occasions, no change. Bye-bye Coffee Club Botany

As I was typing my first words, I had a sip of the Cappuccino I ordered and whoa!!! An abundance of flavor, sweetness and creamy deliciousness descended upon my tongue. Finally a decent Cap! Errr I actually think they mixed up my Cappuccino for a White Mocha. Nevertheless this ‘coffee drink’ is everything I’ve been searching for in a coffee in Auckland. Even the honey was free. Bonus star Coffee club! To compliment my coffee, I ordered the Banana & Walnut loaf. Not sure how I feel about it just yet. It smells sweet, it tastes good and has crunchy walnuts. But I think it’s a bit on the dry side. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. Mellow music playing in the background. Seeing as this café is at the Botany Town center, I’d say this is a good place to rest in between stores.

I love coming here with family, its open late(by NZ standards) and the service has always been friendly. Food takes time to get out the kitchen but tastes good and is served well. The atmosphere is great, chilled and relaxed just like a coffee place should be.

Although I generally have a good experience when going to the Coffee Club for lunch(albeit the somewhat high prices), the service at the Botany branch on Ti Rakau Drive fell extremely short. We went on a very *very* quiet night(there was only one other person dining there) and the waiter did not seem to understand that I wanted the Fettucine Napoli(a vegetarian pasta dish on their menu) without meat. Wait, what? It is advertised as being meatless on the menu. And yet… after I ordered, the guy went to the kitchen, came back a few minutes later; «So you don’t want chicken with it?» «No». Went back to the kitchen, came back; «Bacon?» And so it went on for a while. When I finally got through to him that I didn’t want meat on my meal, the pasta came out without any vegetables or anything that it’s meant to come with(Mushrooms, sundried tomato, onion, spinach etc). It was just sauce and pasta. Severely underwhelming, I will definitely not be returning to this particular branch.
