tamaki drive: the haven for auckland walkers, bikers, joggers, rollerbladers, family strolls — you name it. running from CBD’s viaduct all the way through to st. heliers, the path not only boasts gorgeous sea views but it’s also(*gasp*) primarily FLAT! …so when you’re tired of fighting against the unfathomable gradients of this big little city(think: ayr street), come seek refuge at tamaki drive — it’ll ease the pain and remind you that running can actually be … fun? note: it comes to no surprise that the path is EXTREMELY popular for jafa exercisers — weekends are a bit too overwhelming for me. despite having both bike and pedestrian lanes, i would definitely avoid biking here during peak times.
