We came here for the cinnamon rolls but I actually preferred the delicious cream filled pastry that I bought on a whim(I can’t remember what it’s called but see photo!). It was moist and delicious and really hit the spot as the perfect afternoon snack. The location is unbeatable and when the weather is nice, the outdoor seating area is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely coffee amongst the colorful buildings of gorgeous historic Bryggen!

At the recommendation of my tour book, I stopped here for a cinnamon roll when the P-Hotel breakfast wasn’t cutting it. Not warm out of the oven like the guide said, but it was pretty tasty, as was the americano. The cinnamon roll wasn’t the standard super iced, overly sweet roll that I’m used to, but rather a lightly sweet, richly but not overpweringly cinnamon flavored sweet bread with granulated sugar in place of icing. The cinnamon flavor was strong but not too much, and it had almost a floral flavor to it. I only say this because I’ve just had bergamot candy, but I would say it had much the same hard to describe taste. Perhaps the kind of cinnamon that gets used in Norway? Is it a different or better variety than I would get in the US? Dunno. But I would come back.
