Best tacos and quesadillas for practically nothing. Pepe’s down the street is good too and have a little more variety but overall quality better at this place!

These guys know their stuff!!! The hibiscus water is fantastic! And talk about killer al pastor tacos!!! Must try the flank steak arrachera Tacos too! Their hot taco sauce will rock your world– prepare yourself with a cold Cervesa– this high octane concoction will leave your lips numb and make your eyeballs sweat. Truly an aficionados addiction! Don’t forget to go across the street to Captain Dons for live music!!!

I gorged on tacos like my life was dependent on it in PVR on a recent week long visit. The tacos al pastor here that are cooked outdoors on a rotating middle eastern gyro meat contraption and smoked with hot coals were my favorite pastor tacos I came across while wandering around the neighborhood. Excellent service and the tacos here were less expensive than the numerous taco stands closer to the main action along Los Muertos Beach. This one is a must-return for me.

Best tacos in PV. Another great spot away from the resorts and what I call fake mexico. Don’t be scared and take a walk to this taco stand through the streets of PV.

Me and my friends stumbled upon this random back alley taco stand around 2am(after leaving the club). Given — we had a lot to drink that night, but these Pork Tacos were EVERYTHING. We ordered about 30 of them and inhaled them all! Taco’s are only 10 pesos and they hit the spot. They also have a green sauce on the side that gives it some extra spice /flavor!

3AM… walking back to our hotel… tipsy from the clubs… I was like, «lets get some tacos al pastor.» El Carboncito taco stand… down an alley, behind some closed-for-the-night vendor stands. Smoke coming from the meat cooking on the spit. «cuatro tacos, por favor» Fresh tortillas, sliced meat, pineapple cut from its proper place overlooking the spit, landing perfectly in each taco. One of the best meals we had in ALL of Vallarta… hands down.

The tacos al pastor. That’s all you need to know. I don’t know why tacos al pastor this good are to be found so rarely, but here’s a place you can find them outside Mexico City. If you don’t like walking on the Malecon(where you almost surely have to go to get here), I sympathize. If you’re worried about the end-of-the city location, know that this place seems to generate a sizeable crowd pretty much all of the time and has a very cordial, neighborhood vibe. Though it was clear from other peoples’ orders that it’s all about the TAPs, we wanted a little variety too. The Chuleta was not as good as the TAPs, but was absolutely correct(and would stand out at many decent taco joints). Our mistake was to go also to a well-reviewed, famous-seeming place a block or two away to try their tacos – which were not nearly as good and almost twice as expensive.

Ready to have your mind blown by the best tacos in Puerto Vallarta? Look no further. El Carboncito does everything right. But they do tacos al pastor REALLY right. Table seating inside, and wrap around picnic style eating out front with the pastor stand. Real charcoal smokes and cooks pork cutlets which have been marinated in their secret family marinade, skewered, and cooked on a spit. Watch as the taquero makes the pineapple fly from the top of the spit to your taco, and enjoy the plethora of fresh salsas, which range from neutral avocado to hallucination inducing fire red psychadelic warrior style salsa roja. Like cheese? Order a gringa. It uses flower instead of traditional corn, and adds melted quesillo. This place is open late, and tastes good pre or post drinking binge. ¡Provecho!

Amazing taco stand. Serves up a delicious pork(al pastor) taco. Big favorite with the locals especially after a few drinks around town. So if you’re staying at the Sheraton, Villa Première or Buenaventura hotels and in the mood for a midnight snack, walk a few blocks to taste some succulent pork on a corn tortilla with a sliver of pineapple that is just delectable. Oh and watch out for that green salsa on the far right… it’s not guacamole.

Great, juicy al pastor tacos with a piece of juicy pineapple. Divine avocado salsa. Watch out, the other green one is way too hot for most, and so is the red, even for hot food lovers. Great atmosphere for hanging out, and really great, nice folks running the place. Glad a taxi driver told us to go here. We will be back!

Hole in the wall, super authentic and super legit taco joint just a few blocks down from the Buenaventura Grand Hotel & Spa. Best part is they’re open super late for the late-night crowd. We’ve only tried the al pastor tacos which are 10 pesos each — they’re small/street taco sized — but really fresh ingredients(cilantro, onions, pineapple) served with a variety of sauces and super delicious. I’d recommend this place for the late-night crowd looking for munchies!
