With so many restaurants along the Malecon, how do you choose? I don’t remember how we ended up here, but we were glad we went in. It was an odd hour, so we weren’t super hungry, so we ordered two margaritas and two appetizers. The margaritas were good, not great, but the food was delicious! We ordered the tacos de jaiba(crab), and an appetizer dish with scallops, crab, shrimp, rice, and cheese. For appetizers, they are quite large and inexpensive. While we were there we enjoyed the amazing view of the Malecon and the ocean, and were treated to some traditional Aztec dancing.

Cheap margaritas!!! One dollar most Times– not just happy hour. Stronger than at cheeky monkey and the ambiance is better than next door too. Great people watching– Open air balcony. Very nice staff. Be careful– regularly priced drinks are just That– regularly priced(55 pesos +).

Great ocean view, and elevated on the second floor so there is a little bit of a breeze as the sun sets. No AC as it’s open-air. Service was excellent. I had the Camarones Carbon(Blackened Shrimp) and my friend the fish of the day which was Mahi Mahi. Both we served with salad and rice. Also had the guac and fried squid as appetizers. Food was good, not over-sauced or over-seasoned. The fish in particular was cooked just right, still tender. Also had two delicious margaritas and daiquiris a piece. Would go again for the ambience.

Great view of ocean. Seating on second floor. Great drink prices. Fried calamari was good but quite tough. Guacamole was good. Be ready to get approached about taking a tequila tour. Only $ 10 each but if you’re not interested don’t get roped in.

i would have rated this a little higher if their waiters are polite. maybe i was just unfortunate to encounter CESAR. The window side was full when we arrived so we ended up in the middle but we requested to be moved anytime the other customer finishes — 2 connecting tables became available so we moved, but cesar said we cant coz thats for 4 people, but the tables are monoblocs, obviously u just need to move it so it becomes table for 2. i moved our food and drinks but he insisted that we cant so i started getting annoyed. there was another table FOR2 which the customers were not even finished drinking their beers and this Cesar started kicking them out and cleaning their table, in the end, the couple left and we were placed on their table… i asked for the bill, im not planning on tipping him at all, in less than 1 min upon giving the bill, he immediately asked so i said can u wait? he literally came back like 3x in less than 5 mins insisting for the bill and i lost it so i asked him WHYARE U SUCHIN A HURRY? in the end, i totally didnt finish my food and drinks, we just left the exact bill and thats it. this guy has no courtesy, pls when u dine here, be careful… LOOKFORTHENAMETAG, IFITSAYSCESAR, JUSTBECAUTIOUS. im not generalizing the whole waiters there i just felt unfortunate to be served by this guy! :/

$ 1 beers and margaritas, and the best fajitas I have ever had the pleasure of eating! This place was so good. Great view of the ocean and the nightly fireworks, great service, and excellent food!

We had a beer here which was fine. But they let time share salesmen roam here. A man named Cezar told us he worked at this restaurant and he did give us a business card and receipt from that restaurant. He sold us a Tequila Factory tour for $ 30 the next day, which we found out people actually got free in time share deals. It was a horrible waste of time. He offered us a deal on a time share tour the following day and wanted $ 20 to hold our spot. After the Tequila tour we figured out he was a super scammer and through some arm-twisting we got our $ 20 back and we DIDNOT go on the time share tour. He is slick. Don’t buy anything from him.

We were initially going to pass this place by pretty much because we were skeptical of the guy on the street softly calling to us, but, since we could see open-air upstairs seating with a clear view of the ocean and the situation was no different from walking through Little Italy, New York, we decided to check it out. Game over: We ended up coming back here 3 more times before our trip was done. The atmosphere, due to the upstairs area being open air, reeks of a cool ocean breeze and the joys of a forgotten night. During the day, things are chill and the place primarily caters to tourists and expats. There’s live music and salsa dancing at night, which is when this place really comes to life. Thankfully, it’s not unbearably touristy(at least when we were there), despite its Boardwalk location. We found the service to be fast and very friendly and the food and drinks are great! I’m a guac fiend and it is apparent upon a nibble, this place has fresh guac. Pair that with some limes and a Modelo Especial and you’ve got yourself an evening overlooking the boardwalk, the beach and the sunset.

They have $ 1.50 Corona’s, $ 1 Lime Margarita’s a beautiful location right on the boardwalk and the steak nachos were big enough that you could feed four. The only complaint would be slow service but is it really slow if you’ve got no where to be?

The staff here are bunch of liars and scammers. Originally I was gonna go to Cheeky Monkey and 1 employee downstairs tells me it’s closed and that Cheeky Monkey and this place had the same owners. He then also told me they had $ 1 beers which lured me in, I only had 1 Corona and got charged nearly triple the price. While sitting upstairs I look across and saw that Cheeky Monkey was still opened, so I was curious and asked another employee if they were closed and he continued to tell me they’re closed for another 2 months, also telling me that the owner is gay. Who cares if the owner of Cheeky Monkey is gay or straight I’m just trying to get a few drinks!!! Earlier today I walked by Cheeky Monkey to see if it was opened, once again employees tried to scam me again no thanks. First and last time there! BEWARETRAVELERS!!!

We were originally traveling down the board walk to another restaurant for salsa dancing when we passed by this place. The person outside politely informed us that they didn’t have a cover and that they also had salsa and merengue dancing. While waiting for the dancing to start, we ordered guacamole and some margaritas. The serving of guacamole was quite generous and very tasty. Now… onto the margaritas. I tend to like my margaritas sweet and fruity. This place delivered! I believe they were some place in the $ 3-$ 4 range for a decent sized margarita. I had both the strawberry and the mango. Both were good, but man that mango was super delicious! In terms of the salsa music, I really really liked the band. At one point, they even played a salsa version of Coldplay’s Clocks(very cool). I felt somewhat out of place given that all of the locals on the dance floor were AMAZING(so fun to watch). I really don’t think you can appreciate good dancing until you leave the United States. Highly recommend coming here for dancing.
