I recently had the chance to check out Rakuzen because one of my friend’s birthday dinner was there and it has got such amazing Japanese food. Everything tastes so fresh and unbelievably exquisite. However, it is also just as expensive unfortunately. Their dragon roll is the best dragon roll I have ever tasted but it costs about RM30 for one serving. A few of my friends order a few of their beef dishes and I must say that the way they make their beef is unbelievably tender.

I was craving Japanese one afternoon, and I was so happened to be in SS15 Subang Jaya. Rakuzen was just around the corner and that would be the best place for lunch I thought. Parking on during weekdays are absolutely close to impossible. It took me at least 5 rounds before I found a parking lot. Remember to pay the parking meter for a ticket, you do not want MPSJ to give you a summon. So finally, I got into the restaurant, it wasn’t packed that day during lunch hour. What a relief, I won’t need to wait so long for my food and the noise level is at a average low. I ordered a Saba Shio set(mackerel grilled with salt) and a side of gyoza. Service was good that day, food did not take too long to arrive and the waiters were attentive to fill up my cup of green tea. Food was good too. The fish wasn’t too dry and the taste was just right. The gyoza was panfried, and it goes well with the vinegar and chopped ginger. It was a good lunch and I was a satisfied customer.

I am a big fan of Japanese cuisines. Sushi, Ramen, Shashimi. just name it and for sure I will love it. Most of japanese cuisine’s market are controlled by the Sushi King here in Malaysia but this time, there are a new sheriff in town. A sheriff that called Rakuzen. There are so many branches of Rakuzen but I went for the SS15’s because it’s the closest one to me. Everybody keep saying that the Shashimi is the most recommended dish there but not me. The grilled eel with rice is truly amazing. I don’t remember it’s japanese name but for sure I remember the taste. The tempura shrimp was absolute magnificent. You might wanna try something else too but please, do not skip the grilled eel and the tempura shrimp.
