A wee hidden gem in the busy part of SS15, this small onigiri place is one of my favourite simple places to go to when I need a snack or a light lunch! I’ve been going here since I studied in Taylor’s uni 4 years ago! It’s just an onigiri place, nothing extravagant. There’s many choices you can choose from but I’d highly recommend then Furukake onigiri! That’s my favourite. The ebikko and tuna are also good ones for when you want a snack! It’s cheap too! The furukake onigiri is RM3.60? I always buy 3 to bring back home for lunch or to keep for supper :) Give it a go!

Other than Onigiris, this place also serve other types of dishes like noodles and soup. However I’ve only ever tried their onigiris. I love how beautifully wrapped onigiris are and I’ve always been a fan of these little tiny meals on-the-go. I always get the meat floss and tuna ones, they are my favourites of the lot. The staff here are also patient as you take your time to go through the menu and will even explain the items to you and how you can order them. I will definitely be back again soon to try the rest of their menu! And more onigiris(they have a wide variety of fillings to choose from).

Onigiri is the kind of food I get when I am on the go but I want something filling enough to keep the hunger pangs away for the next few hours. This triangle shaped Japanese rice snack wrapped with seaweed comes in a wide variety of fillings. My favorite so far is the fried salmon, tuna and furikake. And Niko Niko Onigiri makes them pretty well. Actually, they make the best I’ve tasted so far. The Japanese rice has just the right flavour, neither tasteless not too salty. Their price ranges according to the filling you select, but it’s pretty affordable, around RM4 on average for one.

I still remember my very first onigiri experience clearly. My parents had just came back from their Japan trip and they had brought me some japanese street food to try. I was so excited to see what they had bought me and was really surprised when they passed me a triangular looking rice thing. My first bite into the onigiri was such an unforgettable experience and I’ve loved eating onigiris ever since. Niko Niko Onigiri has such a large variety of fillings to choose from. Although it is not as authentic but it still makes me happy that I can enjoy onigiris here in Malaysia. The rice used at Niko Niko Onigiri is the japanese sticky rice which I love. My favorite flavors are the salmon, unagi, teriyaki chicken and mentaiko onigiris. The worker here also does a quick job in preparing the onigiris which is great if you’re looking to take away the food. Onigiris here are also wrapped individually which makes it easier and less messy to consume. Prices vary depending on the fillings but it is quite affordable.
